AUR’s student body is small but diverse, with around 550 students hailing from over fifty countries and almost thirty languages spoken on campus. Its small size makes for a real sense of community and an intimate learning environment, where in-depth classroom discussion flourishes and each student benefits from personalized academic guidance.
Studying at AUR introduces a way of learning that connects ideas and experiences to create innovative, entrepreneurial solutions. Students develop an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving, using concepts from across different subjects to think differently and creatively. At AUR, students who study politics and economics share ideas with students of film and media, or those who focus on literature and storytelling. This interdisciplinary approach formulates new connections and enhances communication skills.
CAMPUs Life
AUR’s location in Rome offers possibilities and opportunities that cannot be matched anywhere else in the world. Opportunities to touch, see, and feel the history of civilization under your very feet. Opportunities to be immersed in a city of great art and architecture. Opportunities to be at the center of world politics both past and present. Opportunities to stretch and challenge yourself with a new language and a new culture. AUR makes the best of these opportunities by using the very fabric of Rome as its classroom, with on-site classes and experiential learning a fundamental part of all of its academic programs.
CAREERS
With an emphasis on learning through experience comes a robust internship program, through which over 75% of students at AUR complete an internship placement over the course of their studies. Through a dedicated Careers and Internships department, students have access to placements with prestigious national and international NGOs and commercial organizations, such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Food Programme, the Fulbright Commission, Associated Press, Vatican Museums, National Geographic, and the U.S. Embassy. After graduation, students continue to benefit from resources and guidance offered by AUR’s Careers services and become part of an active and dynamic alumni network, opening up exciting opportunities all over the world.
