This university is highly overrated. It is overcrowded which gives unnecessary pressure to the student to try and perform well. As a result, there are hundreds of students who end up failing in more than one subject every semester. Also, the location is very remote so you wouldn’t have a good campus life too. Academics wise, the faculty are not up to par for teaching and do not care if the student grasps the taught topic. Personally, I would always recommend against this college.
View moreGood balance between study and fun. Experienced faculty were available on campus.
Practical Knowledge was vastly available. Industry connections were also good. Extra-curricular activities need a ramp-up. Hostel facilities also need some improvement
I finished my bachelor’s in VIT University Vellore in 2014 in Mechanical Engineering. The overall campus life was amazing, hostels were overcrowded though. I took part in various collegiate events. The level of education could have been better, especially when you compare it to foreign universities, for an Indian university it is at par. Branches like computer science, Information technology are well established with lots of companies recruiting students from these branches. Others end up going to one of the tech giants like Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. There are good sporting facilities and a student can be involved in a variety of activities if he wishes to.
