The University of Siegen was founded in 1972 with the combination of graduate and undergraduate student of around 18,000. They offer various degree programs in four faculties with 144 fields of study. The academic year consist of winter and summer terms just like other German universities.
The university is located in densely forested areas in Germany, a good place for leisure and outdoor activities. They have variety of student clubs and organization like Radius 92.1, student-run radio stations and television programs. The student housing that the university provides are operated by Studentenwerk with various dormitories around Siegen.
Any questions concerning academic exchange, course of study and international cooperation will be answered by the International Office. They guide the international applicants around the course of studies and life in Siegen, offers a Welcome week for their first step like walking through the city, opening a bank account, registration and so on.

The Social Sciences program at the University of Siegen is offered in the English language, therefore it attracts a lot of international students. The program is curated by professors who are great in their fields, and who are extremely helpful and always available for students. The university is located in a small city in Germany, however, it is close to big cities such as Cologne, Dusseldorf, and Maastricht and a lot of travelling make the time spent there fun and interesting. If you are looking for an affordable university, in a safe small town with a good quality of education then the University of Siegen is definitely a place for you. It also offers Erasmus exchange program so you can also experience new cultures during your studies.
