I’m a third-year student in the Department of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin, and I can confidently say that it’s been an incredible journey. From the moment I arrived on campus, I knew that I was part of a vibrant community that values intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.

The university’s location in the heart of Berlin is a major plus – there’s always something to do, whether it’s attending a lecture by a renowned expert, participating in a protest or demonstration, or simply exploring the city’s rich history and culture.

Academically, FU Berlin has exceeded my expectations. The professors are experts in their fields, and they’re always willing to engage in discussions and debates. The course structure is also really flexible, which allows me to tailor my studies to my interests and career goals.

One of the things I love most about FU Berlin is its commitment to social justice and sustainability. From the university’s sustainability initiatives to the various student organizations and clubs, there are countless opportunities to get involved and make a difference.

Of course, no university is perfect, and FU Berlin has its quirks. The bureaucracy can be a bit slow, and some of the buildings are in need of renovation. But overall, I’m so glad I chose FU Berlin. It’s a place where I can grow intellectually, challenge my assumptions, and connect with like-minded individuals from all over the world.

If I had to give one piece of advice to future students, it would be to take advantage of the university’s resources and opportunities. Attend lectures, join clubs and organizations, and participate in discussions and debates. And don’t be afraid to explore the city and get to know its hidden corners – Berlin has so much to offer!
