The university offers great education but also due to the huge amount of associations offers great ways to indulge in your fields of desire. Yes, it may be a very difficult Uni regarding the things thought here but this additional pressure in the end literally helps you become a better engineer. Would recommend but you have to keep pushing!
View moreI am Master student of RWTH Aachen. one of the best university in world that’a what other people thinks but that’s not true. My course is on Railway engineering which duration is 2 years. There are many subjects they teach on railways and only field of Electronics field. Here i observed one thing is that people taking 4-5 years to complete their course so most of students stuck here. If i share my opinion on student life so it is not so good. Getting accommodation is not an easy task, Poor transportation system. One thing is good here is only professor are super genius. From my point of please not choose this university .
View moreWith over 50 thousand students, RWTH Aachen University is one of the best and largest Universities in Germany. I am currently studying Master’s in Railway Systems Engineering since 2020 at this University. The university buildings are scattered in a small but beautiful place called Aachen. Every year, more than 5 thousand students come to this University from various parts of the world and hence finding accommodation in a student dorm is quite difficult. The university is located on the western border of Germany. Netherlands and Belgium are very close to Aachen. The university organizes good intercultural and sports activities. There are paid courses as well as free courses for Master’s and Bachelor’s programs depending on your interests. Finding a part-time job is quite hard in Aachen, and students prefer working outside Aachen. Cologne, which is one of the major cities in Germany, is close to Aachen. Students enrolled in RWTH Aachen, get a semester ticket, through which they can travel the entire NRW state for free. This includes Cologne, Bonn, Düsseldorf and Dortmund. With high-quality education and top-notch teaching faculty, I would recommend this university to everyone.
View moreMy study programme is called Railway systems Engineering. The study programme is a bit difficult but the way, it is organised by professors, is remarkable. The Infrastructure is state-of-the-art and all the facilities are there like sports, Gym, etc. There is only one problem that I want to mention, departments of the specific fields are located at a certain distance from each other so, sometimes it feels hectic to switch departments. Overall, I would strongly suggest choosing this university for getting a better career.
View moreAs you might guess from the title itself the huge plus of this programme at my university is a general overview of the whole process of producing vehicles. Do not get tricked by ” general “.
Yes, you are given a general idea but every course in itself is highly detailed. In this very digital century, I believe we all have to agree about being specified is vital but at the same time if you’re lacking a general idea such as other department responsibilities then you do not have a solid connection with them. And without the connection, your ideas are not gonna represent your work as you might want.
So RWTH Aachen Automotive Engineering gives you the general but also the specific details in each department itself.
I believe I do not have to mention that more 50 per cent of the patent related to the futuristic topic “self-driving” belongs to Germany and it’s the heart of the industry.
University has a lot of international exposure, encourages students to tackle the challenges with proper study guidance. offers a wide variety of research-oriented programs. A lot of opportunities for Scholarships as most of the researches is funded by OEM’s, some by the government, and sometimes even by professors.
A lot of fun activities involved apart from studies. Opportunities to develop one’s extracurricular activities apart from studies. Work culture exposure through student internship opportunities. University provides excellent guidance to career growth even after studies.
When I finished High School here in Germany, I already knew that I want to study mechanical engineering. Due to the very good reputation of RWTH Aachen University and the very old romantic city centre which is mainly populated by students, I did not hesitate long with my decision to study here. After the welcome week I felt prepared well for everything. But the start turned out to be harder than expected. The essential courses in the first semesters(as maths, mechanics etc.) should not be taken to easy. Although in the lectures you feel like you can follow most of the topics, the exercises and exams teach you better. You will need to put real effort, if you want to pass the exams with good grades. But if you once realise this and have a good discipline, especially in declining party invitations during the two exam periods (Feb-Apr and Jul-Oct), you will be able to pass the exams. In general the university gives you a lot of freedom how to organise your semesters. It is kind of an eat-or-die mentality. There are nearly no courses with mandatory attendance and all materials(mostly well structured and helpful) will be provided online. So it is completely up to you how much effort you will use for university. Since the teachers/students-ratio is very low in most exercises in the first semesters, I felt more efficient in learning stuff on my own at home. BUT: Once you made the first couple of semesters things get better! The lectures become more interesting and the exercises better organised. However, for me the biggest advantage of RWTH is not the educational part, but the tight connection to industry and companies. It is quite easy to get student jobs at university institutions, where you will be highly involved in recent research works from the beginning on.
To sum up, after the first semesters RWTH gives you extraordinary and unique opportunities, besides the classical education part. You just have to take them.
As an engineering student I am one of many at the RWTH, which is the biggest technical university in Germany. The amount of quality knowledge created at the university and the oppertunities offered to students are amazing, making it an attractive location for people interested in various fields of study.
Although the university is one of the highest funded in all of Germany, sadly that doesn’t mean it also offers the best education.
The huge student body, in the area of engineering, results in an impersonal style of education compared to other universities. During the Bachelors Degree a rigid plan outlines the path of a mechanical engineering student, which can be followed by the traditional means of visiting lectures, but also through self-study, in case of nearly all modules.
All in all the university offers great opportunity for its graduates not least, because it is seen as the greatest mechanical engineering university in all of Germany, but at the same time requires its student to show great discipline and commitment to their studies.
