There is a variety of courses to choose from for every student, regardless of their major. Professors from different backgrounds are experts in their field.
The town is small so there is student life going on everywhere, a warm and welcoming community.
The city Tartu is rather small city and thus everything is quite near by. I am studying law and my classes take place 15 minute walk away from the city center. I can not talk for non-law students but i personally feel that teachers here are all in to teaching. We have online student-professor forums, where students can ask professors questions at any time. There are of course some exceptions but overall I feel like the professors here really care about their students and the outcome of their studies. I am still studying in the uni and I feel that the law course that I am taking has met my expectations. It sure is hard at some times but it is also very interesting so I am not complaining. In Tartu there is also quite a colorful student life and this is one of the main reasons why I would suggest studying in Tartu for all the out-going people. Twice a year there is 2/3 week long program called ”Tudengipäevad” (”Student’s Days). Our uni students organize different events such as beer yoga, silent disco, cooking competitions etc.
