The Polytechnic University of Hong Kong is a great university that provides lots of resources and training for students to gain and cultivate their competitive edges to face future challenges. I like the study atmosphere here and I can enjoy my university life in an interesting way.

As a graduate of this university, I would like to point out what I have earned from the programme and this university.

First, students enjoy various internship opportunities based on their hobbies and needs. The networking and linkage of this university are wide and broad such as the public sector, private companies, healthcare system, charities and more. Students can pick a working opportunity to replace one subject in a semester. For my situation, I have chosen to work in a social enterprise for months, and I have learnt different business models and how to apply them practically. This flexibility can help the student enjoy more freedom in their study, and we can have a clearer picture of what we want to achieve after graduation.

Second, the high quality of the teaching staff in this university can provide a high-standard education to the students. They provide many inspiring thoughts and informative details to students to learn more about our studies. The well-planned teaching schedule help students understand the subject theoretically and practically.

Also, a bunch of societies and activities can provide a colourful and quality school life such as a dance society, social service society, sports club and more. This atmosphere encourages students to discover their potential in different areas. Also, we can make more friends as well.

Moreover, the location of this university is in the heart of Hong Kong, so students can travel around places easily and directly. The main campus is next to the central train station in Hong Kong. This convenient environment can support students’ experiences of the characteristic of Hong Kong.

The tourism management program is as good as expected. This science-based program equips students with all-around knowledge of the tourism industry and provides them with different electives for student development in their own interests e.g. airline management and theme park management.

The classroom building is actually a 5-star teaching hotel with excellent facilities. The location is in the city centre of Hong Kong so it is very convenient to get to the school.

Professors there are friendly and international. They are professional researchers too. Their studies have influenced the industry practices a lot.

I love the practical element of the course the most. You are required to finish a 6-month internship locally or globally. You don’t have to worry about finding where to work as the School has a list of partners for you already. Don’t miss out the exchange opportunities too! They are fun and rewarding experiences.

Definitely recommend it to students out there!

I studied at the School of Hotel and Tourism for my Bachelor’s degree. The school is located in a prime location in Hong Kong. It is also a teaching hotel. All the facilities there are state-of-the-art. We even have a Samsung-sponsored digital lab for our classes and research. I miss my school life in the SHTM. I would highly recommend it to students interested in hotel and tourism management.

Overall, the program is well-organized and keeps up with the times by adding more Fintech and Green Finance courses. The basic Accountancy and Finance knowledge is educated together with general introductions to Management, Marketing, Mathematics, and Economics.

I am a recent graduate from PolyU as an international student. I have to say that the accounting program that I was in was very helpful in shaping my future career plan. I learned so much about all the aspects of accounting and was able to apply it in the real-life world. Awesome professors and TAs!

I’m currently enrolled at the hong kong polytechnic university….
That is how my review should start rationally, right? But, here is a thing – I’m enrolled in the university and the last time I have been to lectures was half a year ago!
It is supposed to be my 2nd year now, but due to the protests, coronavirus I’m on the online teaching for half a year!!!

Like the red bricks building campus, with lots of supporting facilities, such as canteens, restaurant, swimming pool, etc. A university with much diversity. Good looking students are all around in PolyU!
