at Western University - UWO

Coming to western as a black female, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But it has been a great experience so far. Western is known as a PWI and while that is true, there is a big community of black students (you can find them by joining BSA, ASA, etc) and I have more black friends and POC than white. Aside from that, as a math major, the math department isn’t the greatest, however there have been many math classes that were great. Overall, I found that my professors were accommodating and there is a lot of support through faculty sophs and academic counselling.
