Overall great atmosphere on campus. Easily accessible assistance when needed. Great varieties of food choices around the campus. Coop program was awesome and helped tremendously in adapting to work life.

The Mathematics department at the University of Waterloo is fairly difficult, requiring one to be able to learn quickly and independently, much outside the confines of class time. This is not a program for those who wish to slack off.

Most of the textbooks are free, and you can download any that aren’t. Overall, a hard, yet useful program that will challenge your math skills, even if you are good at math. They don’t call it the MIT of Canada for nothing.

I find this program to be very challenging, but in the best way. As an Honours Mathematics student, I find that I am constantly being challenged, but I feel as if I am leaning a lot by being in the program.

They use innovative learning methods which makes the courses easier and fun to learn. The student helping facilities are also really responsive and help the students in every way they can. It’s also easy to mix in with their lifestyle even though I’m an international student.
