My experience at McGill University was pleasant overall. I enjoyed the environment on and off campus and I felt that the quality of education was up to par with what you would expect. It is a very competitive environment, so if thrive and feel motivated in a cut throat environment then it is a good fit for you. Some downsides were that the lectures were huge, due to the large student population, and therefore you really had to go out of your way to receive one-on-one time with both professors and advisors. This meant that it was hard to receive direct support if you were struggling with a specific class or were having a hard time adjusting to university life.
