Joining Mcmaster University is a wonderful experience. I personally have learned a lot. In addition, I really recommend and encourage students to join this school. University has a variety of courses.

My opinion on this university is overall fairly positive. The school has a fantastic and diverse range of faculty’s and programs. From understand the thinking and creativity behind Media Arts to learning about the Fourier Series in Calculus, there is definitely something offered at this school that one will enjoy. The people here tend to be extremely caring and thoughtful. Most of the teachers, students and staff members have been very kind and welcoming throughout my time here. If you’re looking for a place where you can make new friends, learn valuable skills, and really grow and adapt as a person, you will not regret picking this school as your next advancement in your educational career.

McMaster University is a research based prestigious institute. its research activities and class-room content is worth sharing. A vast diversity of students currently studying makes it a must visit institute.

I am from china and visiting research scholar for Ph.D. in statistics. the students and staff are really cooperative. Professor is really expert in the field. I met so many cultures here and enjoying alot. I recomm-end this university.

I am an international research student from Pakistan. I like the university and my supervisor guiding me through my research meetings. But the administration in my case is not helpful. Its been two weeks but the issue of my mosaic account is not resolved. Till then I cannot have the student card and I cannot send the documents to my home country because I am on a scholarship. Otherwise the environment, the students and teachers are really cooperative. I enjoy meeting new people of diverse cultures because the experiences polish my interpersonal and communication skills which I believe are the main things that contribute to my growth as a social person.

Hey, Prospective McMaster Math and Stats students!

I am an International Student pursuing Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University, and I just finished my Second Year. Here are some of my views on University life, Course Selections, Specializations and more. The program is awesome, and you won’t regret coming here! Full of nice people, most of which will want to work together. Find some friends, work together to solve problems, and you’ll do great! The program allows you to take a bunch of electives throughout your course (I had 6 in my first year), so you can very easily minor in something, or you can take a bunch of bird courses and relax. The department here also provides opportunities to undergrads like TA work, summer Research Assistant positions and CO-OP, so you get a chance to stand out there.

If you like math, this is a fantastic program to develop your math skills and take the plethora of courses in other fields at McMaster while gaining valuable work experience in their CO-OP program. During my second year, I chose Stats Sub-plan CO-OP as my specialization. A bunch of students go for AFM, so that is fairly competitive to get into. Selection is based on your grades and an application for those applying in AFM. If you’re looking for more info, go to the McMaster math and stats information, it should show all specializations they offer for the second year and the grades required.

The professors in the math department are definitely good at their job, and I genuinely enjoy learning from them. They also aren’t trying to lower the average or cut out the numbers, so don’t worry about crazy hard courses in your first year. Most of my time isn’t spent doing assignments but more on learning the material outside of class! One tip I’d give to my first-year self would be to plan where and when you take your courses; it can help make sure that you get a spot in the popular first-year bird courses. Overall, a pretty nice program that you can easily succeed in if you put your mind to it. Good luck, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

I like almost everything about McMaster, which is located in Hamilton. It’s a city that’s not too busy but not too isolated either. I think this university is more concerned about the mental health of its students and often sends out emails asking how satisfied students are with their classes and how much stress they are feeling. However, due to the epidemic, many students are still reluctant to go to school and watch the videos sent out by their professors at home, so I don’t fully feel the normal atmosphere of studying at this school yet. If anything, I would like to see the school pay more attention to the employment of students, as this is a medical and liberal arts university for research purposes, but for most people, academics is not the direction they want to go in the future. Objectively speaking, engineering and medicine are definitely among the top in Canada, while other majors are less impressive in comparison, but they are also very good.
