MacEwan University gave me the best university experience I could have ever asked for, and beyond that. I didn’t feel like a number in a classroom, I felt like a valued student. My professors not only loved their jobs, taught well and in unique ways, but they cared about me and the success of their students and were always there for help and assistance. My program had dozens and dozens of interesting, informative courses I could take to fill my breadth requirements, the tuition was fairly priced, my student benefits were amazing and made me feel cared for, the facilities were always well maintained, clean and accessible and I always felt safe, welcomed and wanted on campus. I miss my university days in the best way possible. If I could do it again, I’d choose MacEwan all over again.
View moreWhile I truly value MacEwan’s professors, campus atmosphere, and academic program, the university administration has been profoundly disappointing. Their promotional materials promise flexibility and support, yet they enforce rigid class schedules that ignore the realities of mature students with caregiving responsibilities. This gap between marketing and practice feels misleading, reflects poor communication, and shows a complete lack of genuine effort to accommodate family status. MacEwan, please live up to your own promises. I believed in you.

View moreMacEwan has a great atmosphere and is a very friendly place. The campus looks aesthetically pleasing, and the students are welcoming and kind. The location is great, providing many food locations and entertainment options. There are many student activities as well run by the SAMU group, which range from karaoke nights to full-on beer festivals. Overall, MacEwan is a great school.
View moreMy overall experience at MacEwan University has been amazing. As it is quite new MacEwan offers a variety of courses and co-op programs. The university is diverse as well with multiple cultural courses available as well as student groups.
View moreFirst and foremost, MacEwan University is a great atmosphere for inclusivity. No matter what field you are pursuing your degree in, the professors will ensure that you’re in the right place by diving deep into the course so you’re not left with uncertainty about where you stand in terms of your education and/or career path. Go to MacEwan if you’re wanting clarity on what path you’re looking to be on.
View moreI am a biology major and chemistry minor Grant Macewan University. Overall the program it’s only worth it if you’re trying to pursue grad school. One thing that’s good is that Macewan matches a person’s score with a letter grade that determines GPA making it non-competitive. Courses are hard to enrol into due to their being offered in certain semesters. My advice is to swap over to U of A after completion of 100 and 200 level courses because not many 300 and 400 level courses are offered at MacEwan. Career prospects are also rare and hard to get into a related field regarding bachelor of science since most jobs require prior experience.
View moreAttending University was a rollercoaster ride. Overall, it was a great experience at MacEwan. My interest in psychology grew when I took it as an elective and decided to make it my major subject. I learnt different fields of psychology and how each of them plays a unique role. The good part about university is the choice you get when you’re doing electives which provides you with a chance to explore various subjects. The improvement part would be to include some volunteer hours in order to complete the course which gives some experience that is required nowadays. The volunteer experience with the course would help students gain good jobs once they graduate.
