When I started studying at UFCSPA it had just become a University, although the teaching quality has been famous for decades. Most of the professors has a PhD and the classes were very well organized. The infrastructure kept evolving and became comparable to the best places in the world. The hospital has a mixed public and private system and there were many opportunities for learning in all medicine’s specialties. I believe this University is still evolving, selecting better teachers and offering a progressively better alumni experience.
View moreThe university is of the highest quality, being distinguished by being exclusively dedicated to the health sciences. The structure is great and the professionals who work there too. The internationalization officials still need to improve some bureaucratic issues, but in general the college is prepared.
View moreUFCSPA is a federal university that displays of a modern infrastructure combined with tradition on education, especially when it comes to the medicine’s graduation. Professors are in general very experienced, which provide the students a solid formation based on real practice on health sciences. Definitely, students graduated at UFCSPA leave the university with all the conditions to be excellent doctors, among the best in Brazil. On the other side, the university still lacks investment in the research area, despite some important publications and researches that are already here. The internationalization program is still not compatible with the university’s excellence.
View moreUFCSPA is a traditional University, with more than 50 years of history and a huge expansion over the last 10 years. Despite the limited space – one square with 3 buildings and a hospitals complex – UFCSPA is an excellent place to study. It has great infrastructure, a magnificent grade of well qualified teachers.
I chose this University to study after several research and I couldn’t be more pleased about this choice. I found a small, compact and well prepared place to have my graduation. It has great projects on extension – Ginecologics and Obstetrics Academic League and Projeto Rondon were some of the projects I’ve been a part.
It also has a good internalization team made of teachers and another one of students to help students to live experiences all over the world. The Inovation Centre, a place where students can simulate one special equipment and room, is a great place to learn too.
I would definitely recommend this University to anyone who what’s to graduate on a Health Science course.
The university is very good, and has the quality of the structure as one of the best advantages, despite having a limited space. The courses are well structured and have qualified teachers. Highly recommend!
View moreThe UFCSPA is a university focused on health sciences, grouping on a single campus several area courses. This characteristic yields more and more good results, favoring the exchange of multiprofessional experiences and creating a cohesive and integrated student community.
The campus is splendid and glued to one of the largest and most important hospital complexes in the country, with seven hospitals that are national references in several areas, where UFCSPA students have privileged access to teaching, research and extension activities.
It is a relatively new and still small university, although it is already very traditional in Porto Alegre, so we are observing it in its growth phase … Especially in recent years, great advances are being pursued and achieved in areas of research, extension and internationalization. So we can already glimpse even better comments from those who will still know the UFCSPA.
View moreI studied medicine at UFCSPA for 5 years and I consider it an excellent college. The physical part is well enough, except for the lack of rooms in some periods mainly for meetings and extraclass activities. We have a good library, computers on different floors, cleanliness, ambiance and aesthetics all brand new. We have improved, as far as possible, the encouragement of science and scientific production. Good teachers and adequate precepts in most disciplines and internships. A curriculum framework that has been updated and improved despite still faults. A criticism that has improved in recent years but which is still a problem for me is the lack of space for students to participate in the construction of the university, we do not have much space in commissions, bureaucratization to carry out extension activities, lack of annual evaluation in courses and disciplines and difficulty performing elective placements outside the curriculum.
Despite these difficulties, I was able to participate in some commissions, extension projects and internships in other places.
Brazilian student of the 5th year of Medicine at UFCSPA.
I can guarantee that it is a Brazilian university of great quality and excellence. One of the strengths is its specificity in the area of health, with excellent teachers and infrastructure. Inserted in one of the most complete hospital complexes of the country, it counts on 7 hospitals of diverse areas. A university that has been progressively investing more in research and graduate studies, with a building recently opened only for this purpose. One of his weaknesses is his weak relationship with his school hospital, which often does not know or value the gains brought by the presence of scholars, doctoral students and residents in the hospital complex of Santa Casa.
I am an international student at UFCSPA and I will be graduating next summer.
Over the past 6 years that I’ve been in this institution, I have learned more than just medicine. I am a true believer that doctor and medical education need to be revolutionized. In my school, I found that we need to stop thinking about medicine as a business and rather as a right for all beings. That education needs to be made for the people first and not necessarily for the industry and that doctors serve these people, our community.
I have the privilege to study in a unique public university with a prestigious past, With an envisioned future and with a great endeavor to move forward. An incredible campus, a humane staff and where science meets humanity.
I must say that although we did have struggles (and we do all) I don’t regret anything and encourage others to pursue their dreams here
