The Volta Redonda campus is considerably small, and it has its good and bad moments. There are fewer opportunities than at a bigger uni, but the ones that do exist are not very competitive, and you can partake in most things offered if you put in a little effort. Also, the classes are administered by the same 10/15 teachers, which means that only one class of each subject is given every semester, and if you don’t match with the professor, you have no other option. The small department also means every professor knows and worries about you, so if you tell them you have a certain difficulty or are trying to do something, they will help you for as long as they can. Overall, a good experience, save for some professors who don’t seem to be enjoying their job but can’t be fired
