A renowned university in Brazil, especially in the area of animal-derived food inspection. It produces significant research and innovations in the food sector. In addition to its outstanding Veterinary Medicine program, it also has integration and support programs for students with financial limitations. It’s worth noting that it’s a FREE university, offering meals at the university restaurant for R$0.70 for lunch and dinner. Nothing is perfect, but improvements are constantly growing and improving.
View moreThe Volta Redonda campus is considerably small, and it has its good and bad moments. There are fewer opportunities than at a bigger uni, but the ones that do exist are not very competitive, and you can partake in most things offered if you put in a little effort. Also, the classes are administered by the same 10/15 teachers, which means that only one class of each subject is given every semester, and if you don’t match with the professor, you have no other option. The small department also means every professor knows and worries about you, so if you tell them you have a certain difficulty or are trying to do something, they will help you for as long as they can. Overall, a good experience, save for some professors who don’t seem to be enjoying their job but can’t be fired
View moreThis university is very good overall. There are several opportunities for all kinds of interests. My course, International Relations, is very complete. In fact, I wouldn’t expect it to have any math related subjects, yet it does. The university overall offers dozens of courses that are very regarded nationally and internationally. Law and Med School, for example, are one of the best ones in the country, if not the best. It also offers great support and accessibility for disabled students, such as those in the autism spectrum.
View moreAt university, I valued the diversity in education and the interdisciplinary approach, which went beyond technical and specific aspects, providing a critical and innovative perspective. The integration of social issues into learning broadened my professional outlook, preparing me for a more conscious and impactful role in healthcare. Greater engagement with the scientific community, along with interaction between different courses not only in content but also in physical spaces, would enhance practical experience and strengthen academic training.
