    Worst experience ever

This University is all about politics. Students are not important here. It’s a public University so students don’t have to pay tuition fees. The student accommodation is free also. But the facilities are extremely limited. Accommodation feels like a slum experience. On top of that teachers are not helpful. No body knows if classes are going to held until midnight. If you need any help from teacher, you literally need appointment (even that might not work as you can’t find them at their office). Lab facilities don’t exist. Nobody inspires students to do research.

    A Transformative Academic Journey

Master’s in Development Studies at the University of Dhaka: A Transformative Academic Journey

The Master’s in Development Studies at the University of Dhaka is an outstanding program for anyone interested in understanding the complex challenges of economic growth, social development, governance, and public policy. The curriculum is comprehensive, combining theoretical knowledge with practical insights into national and global development issues.

One of the program’s greatest strengths is its highly qualified and experienced faculty members, who encourage critical thinking, evidence-based analysis, and meaningful discussion. Students gain exposure to interdisciplinary perspectives, allowing them to analyze development challenges from economic, political, social, and environmental viewpoints.

The program also provides valuable opportunities for research, policy analysis, and teamwork. Through seminars, presentations, and research projects, students develop strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills that are highly valued in government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, research institutions, and academia.

Studying at the University of Dhaka adds immense value to the experience. As Bangladesh’s premier public university, it offers a vibrant academic environment, a rich intellectual tradition, and an extensive alumni network that supports both professional and academic growth.

Overall, the Master’s in Development Studies is an excellent choice for aspiring policymakers, researchers, development practitioners, and future leaders. It equips graduates with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and address real-world challenges at both national and international levels. I highly recommend this program to anyone seeking a rewarding and impactful graduate education.

    A vibrant academic environment.

University of Dhaka offers a vibrant academic environment with a rich history and strong intellectual culture. I liked most is the diversity of students and opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion both inside and outside of classroom. Many professors are knowledgeable and passionate. Campus life is lively with various clubs, cultural library. However there are some drawbacks. Administration process is slow and certain facilities could be improved to meet modern standards.

    City heart

University of Dhaka is a top university for arts, bussiness and science student. The University is located in Dhaka. The students get a lot of facilities just for being in the city. They always remain in financial stable mood. The teachers quality is good. The academic pressure is moderated. It is high for science and bussiness faculty but less for arts faculty comparably.

A Legacy of Excellence and Enduring Challenges

My experience at Dhaka University has been both enriching and transformative. From the moment I joined, I was struck by the university’s vibrant academic and cultural environment. Being part of such a historic institution, with its legacy of intellectual and political movements, gave me a sense of pride and responsibility as a student.
Academically, the university challenged me to think critically and independently. The courses encouraged discussion, debate, and exploration beyond textbooks. I had the opportunity to learn from highly knowledgeable faculty members, though the experience varied between departments in terms of teaching styles and resources.
One of the most memorable aspects of my time here has been student life. The campus is alive with cultural programs, student organizations, and events that foster creativity and social engagement. Living and interacting with students from diverse backgrounds broadened my perspective and helped me grow personally. The sense of community and shared history among students added a unique depth to everyday life.

However, the university also presented some challenges. Large class sizes, occasional administrative delays, and infrastructure limitations sometimes made navigating academic and campus life difficult. Additionally, campus politics can be intense, which requires patience and awareness to manage effectively.
