Overall, UTS is a great university – the campus is in an extremely convenient location, the facilities are modern and innovative, and I found the students and culture very open and friendly.
However, I personally faced various pro’s and con’s when attending my course.
I studied a Bachelor of Communications and at the time of my studies, this sector was having a major change in the structure and implementation of the course. Thus, unfortunately I felt as though I was part of the “test” year in which they were seeing what did and didn’t work with the vast new changes they had made.
For many of my subjects, we had a great number of guest lecturers come in who were professionals in their field. This on the one hand was great, as it gave us insight into the actual working industry. But on the other hand, I felt as though the content did not build and develop in each lesson, allowing for a specified and deep learning experience. It felt a bit disorganised and left me feeling unsatisfied.
I believe that it could have been implemented better. However, I would assume that since then, it has been.
UTS has incredible facilities and technologically advanced classrooms. It’s also nice to be in the middle of the city, with many great places to eat near by. Although, at times I did wish that we had some larger grass and park areas throughout the school.
To conclude, I think UTS is a great university to study at. It’s valued for its advancement and industry-aligned studies.
I would definitely recommend UTS for those especially wanting to study and learn in the fields design, innovation and digital creation.
Good luck with your studies!
