This is for the English Kindergarten Education Programme at ELTE Facultyof Primary and Preschool Education:
This university helped me achieve my goals in becoming a kindergarten educator.
The courses are balanced between theoretical knowledge and practical work in various kindergartens in Budapest.
A huge benefit is how the university organises our internships for us each semester. In the final semester, you get to choose where you do your 2 month placement. You’re very likely to get hired at the place where you do your final placement which is a big plus.
The professors are quite caring and they get to know you quite well over the 3 years.
You will definitely find a job in Budapest or you can do your masters abroad.
Some downsides:
The university is quite old and is in need of renovation and there are not a lot of places to eat, so be prepared to bring packed lunch.
There were mostly Hungarian students in my course and you’ll feel pretty lonely as an international student, especially when everyone speaks in Hungarian all the time. There were also some professors who would speak in Hungarian, so it would feel pretty awkward sitting in the class and not understanding.
My advice: make good international friends and don’t take it too seriously.
