Founded in 1911 by Sir John Winthrop Hackett, the University of Western Australia opened the doors to its students in 1913, and the campus was located on Irwin Street, in the center of Perth. The campus consisted of a set of buildings, which served as the university campus until the year of 1932. In that year, the campus was transferred to Crawley, which still stands to its present-day.Show more
UWA is a great university providing quality and recognised education valued in Australia.
The campus offers a wildly gracious combination of historical and modern architecture alongside the Swan River. It also presents a lot of green spaces, hidden gardens and old trees which contribute to the charm of the campus.
The courses are interesting from the 2nd/3rd year of study as the first year subjects are often neglected.
The international community is quite substantial as UWA has a huge student exchange program throughout Asia, America and Europe.
Overall, UWA is a great university to experience studying in Australia.
UWA provides excellent lecturers and facilitators.
The location and facilities are great.
I’d recommend living in one of the residential colleges to get the full experience, as well as amazing support. I have made friends for life there.
