Established in 1974, Deakin University is a public university located in Victoria, it is named after the second Prime Minister of Australia, Alfred Deakin, and opened the door to its students in 1977. The first campus was established at Waurn Ponds, and it was originated from a merger between the higher education courses of the Gordon Institute of Technology, State College of Victoria and Geelong Teachers College.
In 1990, a merger with the Warrnambool Institute of Advanced Education took place, followed by another merger with 3 campuses of Victoria College (Rusden , Burwood and Toorrak) one year later. Some years later, in 2003, the Rusden Campus was closed and all programs were moved to the Melbourne Burwood campus. Three years later, the Toorak Campus was put on sale, as the University considered the facilities were no longer needed, and their courses were transferred to the Melbourne Burwood campus in the following year.Show more

I’m considering going through deakin for a bachelor of arts (psychology) majoring in sociology, but I keep seeing bad reviews about deakin’s cohorts grading unfairly and online staff being hard to work with. My other options would be UNE or swinbourne online.
