pre med has been a good starting point for me, and i am now in md. im focused on building my scientific knowledge now and looking forward to the clinical side of medicine when i progress further, as a doctor’s career has been my goal from the beginning
View moreI had some difficulty with certain subjects when I first started the Premed programme at NAU and I remember feeling a little behind at times. Biology was always the subject I felt most confident in, so it took me a while to adjust to topics like chemistry and physics that required a different way of thinking. There were moments when I had to go over the same material several times before it finally made sense. Thankfully the people at NAU were helpful whenever I needed an explanation or had questions about something I was studying. Sometimes hearing a topic explained in a different way was all I needed to understand it. The study materials were also useful because I could revisit difficult sections in my own time. It made a difference knowing I could ask for help instead of struggling with everything alone. After three years, I can honestly say that I am glad I stuck with it. I have become more confident in subjects that once seemed difficult to me and I no longer feel that I need to understand everything immediately to do well. That is probably one of the most valuable things I have gained from my time at NAU.
View moreOne thing I have liked about studying online is that I can organise my day around my classes and still have enough time to go back over the material. It works well for the way I study. i am in my second year of premed now and it has taught me lots of things.
View moreLooking back at my first year compared with where I am now, I can see a huge difference in my confidence and knowledge. Medical school has challenged me in many ways, but I have learned how to manage the workload and approach difficult subjects much more effectively. NAU has been a very important part of that growth.
