After a 20-minute ride from the city, you reach green, open hills topped by a building that, to a first-time visitor, seems completely out of place — and remains that way until familiarity makes it feel otherwise. What I enjoyed most about the university up the hills were the views, the crisp air, the calm of the mountains, the unforgiving cold, and, of course, the scorching heat followed by apologetic summer nights. If I had to name what I disliked, it would be the distance — from the city, from home. But even that isn’t enough to make me hate the university up the hills.
