The 2024 ranking is only the second time that QS has ranked universities in this particular field, and grades universities on academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per published paper, the H-index (a measure of researcher productivity) and their International Research Network score (a measure of international research).

I really enjoy the diversity of opportunities available at my university. The academic programs are excellent and offer a wide range of disciplines to choose from. Additionally, the professors are knowledgeable and approachable, and the resources available to students, such as the library and the computer lab, are top-notch. I also appreciate the many extracurricular activities offered, such as clubs and sports teams, as they provide opportunities to get involved and meet new people. The campus is beautiful, and the overall atmosphere is very positive and supportive. 4. University College London (UCL)
London was recently named the best city in the world to study artificial intelligence, in part because of the expertise in AI centres at universities like Imperial College London and University College London.
The MEng in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at UCL combines these two related disciplines, resulting in a course that targets the technical knowledge students need to apply AI in real life. The Master of Engineering is taught over four years, allowing students to gain a deep knowledge of topics including machine learning, localisation and mapping and human-robot interaction.

The programme is great for those aiming for careers in research and innovation sectors. However, I do feel that the staff are sometimes “unfocused” in terms of being slightly distant from the students/not taking the time to personally help us with things. Sometimes, I feel like our opinions are also ignored. However, the degree itself is very interesting and I feel that I learn a lot from it.
3. EPFL
EPFL hosts a cutting-edge AI research centre which aims to be at the forefront of AI research in Europe. With over 75 labs in the research centre and a key goal of the centre being AI education across EPFL, meaning students across departments will find artificial intelligence and machine learning a key part of their curriculum. The university also hosts AMLD, Applied Machine Learning Days, one of Europe’s biggest AI conferences.
Across all 30 master’s programmes, students will find that artificial intelligence is a core part of their studies. For example, AI is taught in the context of autonomous vehicles in civil engineering, the mathematics of data in electrical engineering, image processing for Earth observation in environmental sciences, and probabilities in the Digital Humanities.

There are many EPFL associations for students who would like to do arts, philosophy, sports or have a hands-on experience, I personally worked with the Rocket Team EPFL and Junior Entreprise EPFL as a software engineer.
Each semester you can choose courses that best suits you and in each course several teaching assistants will make sure that students have a good understanding of the course material.
All in all, students are well-supervised, they can do as much activities as they want and it is easy to make new friends.
2. ETH Zurich
The ETH AI Center opened in 2020 and is ETH Zurich’s central hub for artificial intelligence research and education. The university is particularly interested in the interdisciplinary applications of AI, plus how humans can integrate AI sustainably and ethically into existing industries and technologies. According to the university, “Introduction to Machine Learning” is the most popular of the many courses dedicated to AI at ETH Zurich; in total, over 4,000 students attend AI courses at the university.
In response to the demand for artificial intelligence studies, ETH Zurich incorporated a new Master in Data Science course, which is taught by both the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, enables students to study AI within a data science context.

My experience with the university so far was good. The curriculum is very demanding but people know that beforehand. Students have the ability to participate in a few programs to gather practical experience but they are few. So you get out of the programs without much practical knowledge.

For experienced students who have already started their career in a technical field and are looking to increase their knowledge and skills in the field of artificial intelligence, this short course at the University of Oxford is one of the best short AI courses in the UK. The University of Oxford has developed a reputation for the study of artificial intelligence, and has even hosted global conferences on the subject that have brought together leaders from around the world.
On the six-week course at Saïd Business School, students are introduced to modern applications of AI in a business context, as well as the challenges and risks surrounding the technology. Students are taught by experts from across departments at the university, resulting in a technical and innovative short course.

The labs are well-equipped and the libraries are well stocked.
The projects for grades were well structured and explained. Most of them involved working in pairs or groups. I think this improved my social skills in myself and others. Furthermore, grouping people with different backgrounds made us more tolerant, understanding, and willing to teach each other in subjects where we were lacking familiarity.
As soon as I graduated I was able to find a job relatively easily. I believe my degree has equipped me with all the skills I needed to be required for the interviews.
