- INSEAD leads with 93% positive sentiment, dominating most categories and reflecting strong student satisfaction and global reputation.
- HEC Paris ranks highly (87%) and tops career prospects, showing exceptional industry connections despite not leading overall.
- EDUopinions Reputation Barometer uses AI sentiment analysis across four platforms to reveal student-driven insights beyond traditional rankings.
What students say about your university can have a significant impact on your institution’s reputation. Do they talk about your brand positively or negatively? What are they saying? These answers can inform your marketing, recruitment, and reputation management strategies.
Earlier this year, we launched the EDUopinions Reputation Barometer, an alternative to a traditional university rankings system that analyses student sentiment across review websites. Instead of relying on factors like research output or employer reputation, we went straight to students. What are they actually saying about universities and business schools on the internet?
At the 2025 Annual EAIE Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, we crowned six global universities as ‘Outstanding Institutions: Rated by Students’ based on an initial analysis of reviews.
Today, we reveal the results of our analysis of French business schools. The following rankings were determined entirely by sentiment analysis of third-party review and discussion websites and offer an alternative perspective on university reputation.
EDUopinions Reputation Barometer: Summary and Methodology

The Reputation Barometer is an AI-powered sentiment analysis tool that analyses the ratios of positive and negative reviews on four online review platforms:
- EDUopinions
- Quora
By doing so, it can quantify how students are talking about universities and business schools online. Results are expressed as a percentage, reflecting the overall ratio of positive versus negative sentiment expressed by students.
Data for this analysis of French business schools were compiled on the 1st October 2025. Our AI sentiment analysis evaluates discussions on these sites as of that date; therefore, it draws on a broad range of data spanning many years.
We compiled the data into three rankings:
- Top 10 French Business Schools: Overall Ranking: A complete top ten ranking from all sentiment analysis across all four review websites.
- Top 10 French Business Schools: EDUopinions Reputation: A ranking only taking into account sentiment analysis from EDUopinions student reviews.
- EDUopinions Reputation Barometer Rankings: Individual Rankings: A smaller set of rankings that analyse sentiment related to eight aspects of the student experience.
Top 10 French Business Schools: Overall Ranking
Our main ranking includes sentiment data from all four of our review sources: EDUopinions, Google, Reddit, and Quora. The following universities all achieved a positive sentiment score above 78%, indicating high levels of student satisfaction.

Student Review
Overall I think it’s a good school that prepare the student to start a professional life having in mind the CSR and social aspect in their everyday work and project.
What I like absout the school was the fact that we had the opportunity to do some unique experience when it comes to social responsibility and helping the people in need.
What I dislike about the school is the fact that we are not well guided when it comes to help us find our internships or professional experience.
Personally I would recommend the school because it helps us to grow up in our lives and also we have a diversity of courses, intervention on general culture but also managerial and entrepreneurial cultures.

One of ICN’s strengths is the Artem Alliance, a collaboration among art, technology and management institutions that emphasises interdisciplinary and innovative learning methods. Student Review
Well, I think this school is really best when it comes to diversity. The school has a very good network of alumni and also quite affordable most of its programs are very convenient even for international students to study. All in all its a good school and highly appreciated. Thanks
Student Review
First of all, the courses taught in this course are of high quality, partly due to the quality of the speakers in the school. The courses are complete and are in line with current trends. However, the speakers were not all very qualitative, whether in terms of communicating the homework to be done or their lessons.
Overall the program is open to international but having been educated at the time of the COVID-19 epidemic, I could not get an idea of the international side of this school. Thus, the Bachelor’s at ICN Business School is a fairly versatile course, focused on the different areas that can be found in management (communication, accounting, CV creation workshops and cover letters, etc.)
Concerning opportunities, because of the partnerships that the school maintains with many large companies, I find that it is simple having gone through this school to apply for and obtain a work contract, both in France and abroad. the international.

Student Review
In general, in my program, I liked the fact that the classes are very well distributed and teachers encourage students to learn using different methods. I also liked the fact that you get to meet people from everywhere around the world and different cultures. Notwithstanding, I think the university can improve their methods to help students when they don’t understand something.
The student life around is great, it is very easy to move, eat and meet people, as you will always find international people, and you will always hear different languages. On my career prospects I feel that I will keep learning, having a good time in Barcelona and will build my future the best way possible.
=7. IÉSEG School of Management

Student Review
I had a great time inteacting with people from all over the world ,from costa rica to morroco, ieseg is truly an international school . The professors at IESEG make learning a truly enriching experience with sessions within and off campus
Student Review
Firstly, IESEG’s Paris campus is very well located in the corporate hub of the city, which allows students to network with working professionals. IESEG’s faculty is extremely diverse (85% of the professors are international) which brings a diverse set of knowledge. However, I feel there is some room for improvement, such as the diversity in the classroom which was not as expected, as a result, it lacked interesting classroom discussions. IESEG could encourage more international students for the MIM program.
Integration into the culture and the school was also a thing which I felt a bit off, but there is a solution to that, and that is – TO LEARN FRENCH !!
I would like to mention, that learning the language would be the best effort a student can make. It will make your life much easier, it will allow you to explore the culture, connect with the students and participate in the student clubs and associations.

The campus facilities are excellent, with full access to everything you need. There’s even a small café on-site that serves delicious and affordable food. I’ve always felt safe, both on campus and in the surrounding area. Overall, I would definitely recommend this school to anyone considering a management program in Grenoble!
Student Review
I find the personalized academic journey quite intriguing, as it allows you to select your minors and majors and integrate them into a cohesive path. From an international student’s perspective, the blend of French and English is challenging yet rewarding. The professors are highly qualified, though I’ve noticed that not all students seem equally engaged in the classes, which can sometimes make teamwork challenging. Overall, the platforms are user-friendly, and the school’s infrastructure for classes is well-equipped.

Students benefit from personalised, small-cohort learning, a practical focus, and the opportunity to complete dual degrees with partner universities globally. Clermont School of Business is one of the best-rated on our site, achieving an overall rating of 4.9 out of 5, and it’s clear that students are also shouting about their positive experience elsewhere on the web.

Clermont School of Business offers a strong academic foundation with a practical approach to international commerce and digital marketing. The professors are experienced and supportive, especially in courses like brand management and web analytics. The small class sizes make learning more interactive and personalized. The campus has a welcoming atmosphere for international students, and the city of Clermont-Ferrand is peaceful and student-friendly. Student Review
I believe the personalized journey it’s interesting since you can choose your minors and majors and connect them to have a coherent journey. The mix of French and English from an international student perspective it’s challenging but worth it. The professors have a great background, but my only remark is that not all students seems to care about the classes and therefore, some teamworks can be difficult. The platforms in general are user friendly as well as the infrastructure of the school for the classes.

Triple-accredited and positioned across three popular student cities – Paris, Reims, and Rouen – NEOMA champions innovation through immersive learning. Additionally, the school houses a Startup Lab that has launched 225+ ventures – it’s no surprise that students would want to shout about the opportunities here.
Student Review
One of the many things that makes Neoma different is that it has professors who have industry experience or I would say Real-World experience. They are not following the typical Theory based education but makes the classes interesting with current global issues and examples. Most of them are researchers, so they are updated with the past and present information very well.
Student Review
I am currently studying masters at Neoma Business School, Reims and it has been an incredible experience so far. A huge number of international students, career fairs and intricately designed curriculum, are some of the highlights in this university.
Even in terms of academic aspects, the faculties are amazing in conveying study material and everyone is very helpful and empathetic. These qualities matter the most when you have travelled so far away from your home for your career and life. They have a huge academic database and professional partnerships with many prestigious companies.
Therefore, to sum up, I would definitely recommend it to new students looking to pursue their masters in France.
=3. EDHEC Business School

Operating from five campuses across Europe and Asia, EDHEC Business School has established itself as an international research powerhouse. It has achieved particular recognition for its finance and risk management research, housing world-leading centres in these areas. The Master in Management offers multiple specialisation tracks, whilst the Global MBA provides concentrations in finance, entrepreneurship, and AI & Innovation.
Student Review
Programme structure for BM Masters in EDHEC, Lille was great. We got a gap year between the two years to do two internships which allowed us to gain work experience during our masters.
Would definitely recommend.
Student Review
very helpful. I think the schooll gave me a strong mix of academic knowledge and hands-on experience. The courses are very business-oriented and the professors often bring in real industry cases.
In my opinions, the campus in Lille is also super modern and has a good student vibe.

The flagship Master in Management programme (ranked seventh globally) allows students to study across multiple campuses and choose from over 70 specialisations. Student Review
To me, studying at ESCP has been a really rewarding experience. The multicultural environment helped me grow both personally and professionally. Professors are very supportive and bring real-world insights into the classroom. I rlly liked the flexibility to study in different campuses across Europe. Although some admin processes can be slow, but overall I felt well-prepared for the job market.
Student Review
I highly recommend ESCP to anyone who is smart, driven, and wants to work in an international environment. First, top companies regularly recruit from ESCP which allowed to land an internship which transitioned to a full -time role. Second, I was able to study at two campuses (Paris and Berlin) and because of this I received a diploma from both countries which made applying for visas much more straight forward. Finally, it was insipidity to work with other like minded students and I made connections that will last the entirety of my professional career. If you want go to a top school and study in multiple countries, ESCP is the place to go!
2. HEC Paris

Founded in 1881, HEC Paris consistently ranks among France’s leading business schools (its Master’s in Management is ranked number one in France). Located in the Paris-Saclay Innovation Cluster, HEC offers particularly strong teaching in management specialities such as strategy, finance, and entrepreneurship. HEC Paris achieves an 87% sentiment rating – so it isn’t far off our top-ranking French business school.
Student Review

We’re talking about innovative ideas, industrial partnerships, and global opportunities that can help us prepare for a global future.HEC Paris achieved the ideal balance between tradition and innovation. HEC Paris strikes the optimal blend between demanding academics and a supportive community. The students at HEC Paris are unquestionably its greatest asset. All of the students are determined to succeed and have a strong passion for a variety of activities. The level of diversity you encounter is extraordinary.
1. INSEAD Business School

So, here it is: the French business school that is talked about most positively online! It shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that INSEAD Business School is a top-ranked business institution – the Financial Times recently ranked it the best European business school and its MBA programme is ranked fourth in the world.
INSEAD achieves an impressive 93% positive sentiment across the four websites surveyed, and, as we’ll see, also leads in sentiment across three of the four websites surveyed.
Student Review
Just graduated and I just want to say how amazing my journey so far has been since I started at INSEAD. The school offers some of the best lecturers to help you learn everything you might need in the modern business world. The school has a variety of facilities to offer and there is something for everyone here. I made a whole bunch of friends and I met so many more amazing people throughout my life here. Meeting people from all over the world and being exposed to such a diverse student community was unreal to me.
Student Review
like the atmosphere. Challenging program. Dislike the location of the program, too far away from city. The curriculum is very packed and the peers are very nice. Enjoying the program so far and defintely learning new business skills.
The Complete Ranking

Top 10 French Business Schools: EDUopinions Reputation

Our EDUopinions ranking considers only the sentiments demonstrated in student reviews posted on EDUopinions – and there are some interesting shifts compared to the overall ranking.
Unsurprisingly, considering its strong reputation, INSEAD maintains first position. However, in second position is Audencia Business School, which was absent from the top ten of our overall ranking. The school’s second-place ranking here suggests that its positive student experiences among EDUopinions reviewers don’t translate to broader online visibility – something which it might do well to rectify. In fact, Audencia received comparatively low positive sentiment on Quora and Reddit.
Similarly, EM Normandie and ESSCA School of Management – both absent from the overall ranking – appear here in third and tenth place, respectively.
EDUopinions Reputation Barometer Rankings: Individual Rankings
Finally, it’s time to look at our individual rankings, which cover eight topics related to the overall student experience: facilities, professors, location, student life, internationality, value for money, career prospects, and accommodation.
The methodology for this sentiment analysis was the same as for our overall ranking: we analysed discussions on EDUopinions, Google, Quora, and Reddit, but this time divided them by the overarching topic of conversation.
Facilities

This ranking reflects student discussions regarding general campus amenities – teaching spaces, libraries, technology, cafeterias, and similar.
INSEAD’s multi-campus model, which features three campuses on three continents, likely contributes to its leading position here, and HEC’s home campus in Paris has strong connections to the broader innovation cluster in Orsay.
However, GEM’s presence in the top three demonstrates that institutions outside Paris can compete on facilities. Other schools outside Paris that appear in the top ten of this ranking include NEOMA Business School and Audencia Business School.
Professors

A poor learning experience can significantly impact a student’s business school experience. One ineffective professor can lead to misunderstanding an entire semester’s worth of learning, so it’s crucial that a business school’s faculty can be as strong as its reputation.
Our professor ranking is almost identical to the facilities ranking, demonstrating a strong correlation between these two aspects of the learning experience. The only difference is that Audencia is absent from our professor ranking: it received a lower-than-average score of 69% for professors, compared to 80% for facilities.
Location

In our location ranking, ESCP holds the only number-one spot across all eight rankings, none of which are occupied by INSEAD or HEC Paris. This is particularly interesting, as ESCP has a strong European-wide presence, rather than a single central campus in a single French location – the school’s international approach clearly appeals to students seeking diverse experiences.
Audencia’s presence in the top five of this ranking – notably absent from the overall top 10 – demonstrates how location can elevate a school’s appeal. The school is based in Nantes, a popular student city.
Student Life

Is internationality the key to a memorable student life? This ranking would suggest it is. INSEAD prides itself on its diverse, welcoming campus atmosphere, which may have helped it to the top spot on our student life ranking.
However, the presence of Audencia and KEDGE Business School – neither of which appears in the overall top 10 – illustrates how vibrant student communities can thrive outside of more well-known business institutions.
Smaller business schools are also well-represented in the top ten of this ranking. Rennes School of Business, Clermont School of Business, and TBS Education are all ’boutique’ institutions, representing fewer than 10,000 students each, yet they foster a vibrant campus experience that students evidently value.
Internationality

INSEAD unsurprisingly leads internationality rankings, given its tri-continental campus structure and student body representing over 90 nationalities.
The appearance of Rennes School of Business in this ranking demonstrates that smaller schools can clearly foster similarly international student bodies.
Value for Money

INSEAD’s top position – despite relatively high tuition fees – suggests students perceive strong value through rapid career progression and alumni network access.
Other international schools among the top ten for value for money include ESCP Business School, HEC Paris, and EDHEC Business School. This makes it clear that value for money does not just concern how much students are paying for their degrees, or what living costs are like, but how much their degrees broaden their perspectives.
Career Prospects

In the world of business schools, career prospects are an essential indicator of whether the school is preparing students for the future. Significantly, this is the only category ranking where HEC Paris outranks INSEAD, which is perhaps a nod to HEC Paris’ unique connections to the world of consulting and finance.
A shared third position for EDHEC and GEM shows that schools outside of the Paris innovation circle can compete on career prospects for their students. Regardless of position, overall sentiments were high for this category, with an average of 85% among the top ten schools.
Accommodation

Average positive sentiment was lower in the accommodation category than in the seven other categories, at 66%, reflecting broader dissatisfaction with student accommodation in Europe. For example, in our research on the top 10 European cities for student accommodation, all positions were held by UK cities.
INSEAD’s top ranking likely reflects well-organised housing support across its three international campuses. Additionally, the three-way tie for third place highlights how schools in cities such as Nantes (Audencia), Toulouse (TBS), and Lille/Paris (IÉSEG) perhaps offer more affordable and accessible housing than central Paris.
Conclusion
Our Reputation Barometer reveals a nuanced picture of France’s business school landscape that extends beyond traditional rankings. INSEAD emerges as the clear leader, with 93% positive sentiment, demonstrating that its elite reputation translates into genuine student satisfaction.
However, our data also uncovers fascinating insights. Schools like Audencia and EM Normandie excel in direct student reviews despite lower overall visibility, whilst institutions such as SKEMA and GEM Alpine Business School rely heavily on broader online presence rather than review platforms.
The individual category rankings prove particularly revealing. Whilst INSEAD dominates most areas, HEC Paris leads in career prospects, and ESCP claims the top location spot. These variations demonstrate that students value different aspects of their educational experience, and no single institution excels across all elements.
For students researching French business schools, this sentiment-based approach offers a valuable perspective alongside traditional metrics. The strong performance of smaller institutions like Clermont School of Business and Excelia Business School suggests that boutique schools can deliver exceptional student experiences.
