The Top 10 Best Universities in France for Job Prospects
Summary and Methodology
To compile our ranking of the best universities in France for job prospects, we first filtered institutions by the number of reviews they received. Institutions had to have at least 15 verified student reviews to be considered. Of 169 universities and business schools with a page on EDUopinions, 28 had more than 15 reviews.
We then cross-referenced the resulting list of universities with additional factors, including:
- Student population.
- Frequency and position in rankings.
- The number of student clubs and societies.
This resulted in a ranking focused on France’s largest universities, business schools, and grandes écoles, both by student numbers and variety of extracurricular activities. Half of the universities on the list (14) passed this criteria.
Finally, we ranked these institutions by the career prospects rating they received from student reviewers to get the following ranking.
So, here are the top 10 best universities in France for job prospects!
10. Université de Strasbourg (3.95/5 Rating)

Université de Strasbourg is known for its strong connection to industry, particularly in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Strasbourg’s strategic location at the crossroads of Europe (the city has, over history, been a part of France and Germany) provides students with unique opportunities for internships and careers in both the public and private sectors. The university’s rich history and prestigious alumni make it a top choice for students looking for a head start in their careers.
Student Review – Biology
Good morning,
I joined one of the largest French universities, the University of Strasbourg. My course at such a university was enriching. In addition, my end-of-studies internship was done in an international virology institute, where I worked with a large number of people from all over the world.
This opportunity allowed me to improve my interpersonal skills and my know-how.
Best regards,
Amina
Student Review – Neuropsychology
I arrived here for my master’s degree in neuropsychology and I particularly appreciated the scientific rigor of the courses given, whether in the master’s or bachelor’s degrees. I also really appreciated the support of the teachers, their availability and their kindness towards the students. On the program, what I like here is the balance between research subjects/research internship and more clinical subjects/clinical internship. Furthermore, the courses seem very complete to me to have as many tools as possible for my future practice. I also find that people from Strasbourg are very open and sociable people :).
More generally, the setting of the campus and the city is very pleasant and aesthetic, I really like the atmosphere of this place. The campus is dynamic with many possible activities (sporting, cultural, sewing, city tours, etc.), especially for new students or foreign students.
9. EDHEC Business School (4.10/5 Rating)

EDHEC Business School is renowned for its focus on entrepreneurship and finance, consistently ranking among the top business schools globally. EDHEC’s close ties with the business community, particularly in finance and consulting, mean graduates can be sure of exciting internship opportunities. Plus, the EDHEC strongly emphasises global education, and students can easily broaden their networks with international campuses across France, the UK, and Asia.
Student Review – Financial Management
As soon as I arrived at EDHEC, I was struck by the dynamic and innovative atmosphere. The teachers, experts and enthusiasts, transmit their knowledge with enthusiasm. The courses are practice-oriented with many concrete projects and business simulations. I particularly appreciated the startup incubator, which helped me develop my entrepreneurial spirit and launch my own project. The multicultural environment and numerous student associations enrich the experience, providing valuable opportunities for personal and professional development.
Student Review – Finance, Accounting, and Management
I am currently a product engineer at Société Générale after spending 4 years at EDHEC, in asset management and market finance.
I have always been passionate about this industry and the finance market, and that is the only reason why I chose this specialization.
My years at this school were very productive and very beneficial for my current career, because I made a lot of contacts, which is not surprising in business school.
But also, because I was able to learn a lot of things and acquire a lot of skills thanks to those who were taught to us in class.
We also had the opportunity to do internships, which meant that I had a lot of experience before launching professionally.
8. Aix-Marseille Université (4.13/5 Rating)

Aix-Marseille Université is known for being the largest university in France, and this is reflected in the diverse range of programmes on offer. Its strategic location in the dynamic Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region offers students access to thriving industries such as tourism, technology, and maritime, as well as convenient links to industry in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. The university’s commitment to research and innovation further enhances students’ employability, particularly in emerging sectors.
Student Review – Applied Chemistry
Life at Aix-Marseille Université has been an exciting journey, providing me with exposure to a diverse array of opportunities beyond the academic realm. Through seminars and webinars, I’ve gained valuable knowledge and skills on a wide range of topics, going beyond the standard curriculum and equipping students with the tools to navigate everyday life.
Student Review – Computer Science
Aix-Marseille University provides a varied and rewarding academic journey. The professors are well-versed and accessible, cultivating a favorable atmosphere for learning. The campus boasts contemporary facilities, equipping students with top-notch resources. The university’s dedication to research is palpable, contributing to a dynamic intellectual community. The presence of cultural diversity enriches the overall experience, fostering a global outlook.
7. Université de Montpellier (4.13/5 Rating)

Université de Montpellier, one of the oldest universities in the world, offers a rich academic tradition combined with modern support to ensure students get the best start in their careers. Its strong links with regional industries in the south of France—particularly in biotechnology, health, and environmental sciences—provide students with numerous internship and graduate job opportunities. The university’s vibrant campus life and Mediterranean location also make it an attractive choice for students who want to balance studies with a taste of relaxed French life.
Student Review – Biology
Université de Montpellier is an excellent university, providing a great education in a lovely setting. The campus is beautiful and the atmosphere is conducive to learning. The university makes sure that resources are available to all students who need them, and prioritizes their success and well-being. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering their education options.
Student Review – Microbiology
Université De Montpellier has been a positive experience overall. As an international student, I’ve been enjoying my time here and appreciate the school’s focus on innovation and preparing students for the future. I also value the diverse student body and the many opportunities for student engagement. These aspects of the school have impressed me and enriched my experience.
6. HEC Paris (4.32/5 Rating)

HEC Paris is one of the world’s most prestigious business schools, ranked the best in Europe and home to the region’s best Master of Management programme. The school has developed strong connections with multinational corporations in Paris and wider France, ensuring students can access networking opportunities with prestigious companies. Additionally, with its renowned incubator and startup accelerator, the school’s focus on entrepreneurship further enhances students’ career prospects, making it a launchpad for future business leaders.
Student Review – Computer Engineering
I am thoroughly enjoying my time at HEC, from the innovative teaching methods to the welcoming campus environment, which is particularly supportive of international students. The extracurricular opportunities, such as sports and associations, are incredibly valuable. Additionally, the career services offered are exceptional. Overall, I find my experience at HEC to be truly enriching.
Student Review – Programme Grande Ecole
The school is very international indeed, we have courses with international students and share things with them within the extra academic life (in the social clubs especially). We have great career prospects if we prepare ourselves well – however, the global curriculum is still very finance-oriented, which is a pity for other interesting domains of the company world, which does not rely on finance only. The social clubs are good practice for the management and for now, are quite independent.
5. Université Grenoble Alpes (4.33/5 Rating)

Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) is a leading research university known for its interdisciplinary approach, which evidently helps students access top jobs. In particular, UGA engages in close collaboration with local and international technology businesses, giving students the opportunity to work closely with emerging startups. The university’s unique location in the heart of the French Alps means there are plenty of ways to unwind after studying, including skiing.
Student Review – Accounting
I got selected to come here to study due to a common wealth program, studying accounting at this institution has been a game changer. Rounded up last year and I’m already working top firm in my country. The reputation extends across borders.
Student Review – Computer Science
You know you’re being taught properly when they bring in high ranking professors from parts of the world to teach a series of classes. To think a University has this much in terms of global networking. I don’t know if it’s the same in other faculties but when I enrolled I was giving a proper career roadmap, it helps to know that your University is respected by a lot of tech companies. If your goal is to boost your chances of employment then UG is definitely the place.
4. NEOMA Business School (4.33/5 Rating)

NEOMA Business School is recognised for its innovative approach to business education, integrating digital and experiential learning. The school’s Talent & Career department offers extensive support through personalized coaching, CV workshops, and employer events. NEOMA’s strong industry connections and international programs, including dual degrees and global internships, enhance students’ career prospects. The school’s emphasis on entrepreneurship also encourages students to launch their own ventures with the support of NEOMA’s incubators.
Student Review – Management
One of the many things that makes Neoma different is that it has professors who have industry experience or I would say Real-World experience. They are not following the typical Theory based education but makes the classes interesting with current global issues and examples. Most of them are researchers, so they are updated with the past and present information very well.
Student Review – Marketing
I am currently studying masters at Neoma Business School, Reims and it has been an incredible experience so far. A huge number of international students, career fairs and intricately designed curriculum, are some of the highlights in this university.
Even in terms of academic aspects, the faculties are amazing in conveying study material and everyone is very helpful and empathetic. These qualities matter the most when you have travelled so far away from your home for your career and life. They have a huge academic database and professional partnerships with many prestigious companies.
Therefore, to sum up, I would definitely recommend it to new students looking to pursue their masters in France.
3. Sciences Po (4.39/5 Rating)

Sciences Po is a prestigious social sciences university that prepares students for careers in public policy, international relations, and business. The specialised nature of its university departments—including law, journalism, and public affairs—allows students to gain specialist industry knowledge, which helps them in their job hunts. Its focus on critical thinking and leadership also ensures graduates are well-equipped for high-impact roles.
Student Review – Law
The Sciences Po University in Paris offers a top-notch law degree program. The cost of living in Paris can be high, but the university’s location in the city provides endless opportunities for social and cultural experiences. Overall, the university offers a great balance between academic rigor and an enjoyable student life.
Student Review – Political Science
Professors being people professionals in the field that they teach about is such a great learning experience. However, there is a lack of diversity in the faculty which is a bit jarring for this school being an international school and all.
2. GEM Alpine Business School (4.43/5 Rating)

The second university based in Grenoble to make it onto our ranking, GEM Alpine Business School (GEM) just beats Université Grenoble Alpes for career prospects. GEM stands out for its focus on technology, innovation, and international business and has close ties with industry leaders, particularly in tech-driven sectors. The school also has triple-accreditation from AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS, making it one of only 1% of business schools in the world to achieve this prestige.
Student Review – Programme Grande Ecole
Very good program offering rich training in different sectors of the commerce sector.
The establishment has good infrastructure. She offers us good working materials for our projects.
The Grenoble campus is not the best in France, but still very good
There is a gym, classes, well equipped, amphitheatres, quite large and a beautiful cafeteria, it’s not great luxury, but it has everything you need
In our program, especially my year, we are lucky to have very good teachers who listen and who train us in an excellent way.
This school nevertheless lacks international students compared to the top 5 of École de France, a business
Student Review – Accounting
As a student in a major school program, my academic experience lived up to my expectations.
After spending two years in prep class to pass the national business school competition, I was accepted into this school.
The value of the large program, School is not the same as the bachelor’s, and is therefore better in my opinion.
The chances for internships or to work later are different between the two programs, especially when graduating from this school.
This is the reason why I would recommend doing prep classes and integrating this program. The school doesn’t matter as much as going directly to a business school after the baccalaureate.
And to talk about the school on an academic level, it doesn’t have many things to envy of the biggest, but must improve in other non-academic aspects.
1. ESSEC Business School (4.61/5 Rating)

ESSEC Business School, a top-ranked global business school and one of the best in France, is known for its strong emphasis on practical experience and global exposure. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that it tops the list of the best universities in France for job prospects.
ESSEC’s partnerships with global companies (the school has over 1,000 corporate partners) ensure students gain valuable internships, which can lead to job placements at the end of their degrees. These internships are an integral part of the ESSEC student experience, and some students can combine their degree with an apprenticeship to gain even more practical experience.
Student Review – Management
With its wide variety of courses and emphasis on real-world experience, ESSEC University is a fantastic option for anyone looking to pursue a career in business. The university prioritizes the success of its students, providing them with the resources and support they need to thrive both personally and professionally. Simply put, ESSEC is a top choice for those seeking to advance their careers.
Student Review – Business Administration
The English track BBA program at ESSEC is simply exceptional. Courses are taught by internationally renowned professors who are experts in their field. The subjects taught cover a wide range of disciplines from marketing to finance, strategy and entrepreneurship. The English track is a major asset because it allows you to develop perfect mastery of professional English, essential in today’s globalized business world.
Some students love student life at Essec, which is one of the best in France, but it all depends on taste.
Conclusion

When choosing a university, it’s important to evaluate every aspect of your potential student experience, including thinking about what you might do after your degree.
