1) Cola Beach, Goa:
While Goa remains one of the most visited places by foreigners and Indians alike, Cola beach still is a very unexplored seaside. It is one of the most hidden locations in Goa. This is one of the cleanest beaches in the Goa area and is unknown by many tourists. You can sit here enjoy the waves and just relax by the sea. There are even some beach tents where you can stay if you’re in an adventurous mood!
The beach is in South Goa and is located at a distance of 33 km’s from Margao and about 6 km away from Agonda beach by road.
2) Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh:
While most of North-east India remains unexplored, you can visit Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. There are many monasteries here, so you can explore the beautiful religion of Buddhism as well. The one that stands out is the place where Dalai Lama was born. Good months to visit are March to September where it’s cool and there’s not much snow.
3) Auroville, Tamil Nadu:
This is a unique universal town made by people of many ethnicities and countries. People from around the globe come here to experience cultures and to bring everyone together. Auroville is located in Tamil Nadu, and it is an international committee where people from all countries are able to live in peace. The motto of Auroville is human unity. No matter the caste, creed and nation. You will be surprised to find that there are fewer Indians here and more foreigners. Here you will find Germans, Portuguese, Americans and many other nationalities, all working for Auroville and living there in peace together.The place was founded by Sri Aurobindo Ashrams mother on February 28, 1968. The area is surrounded by 13 villages with a population of over 40,000 people.
4) Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand:
This place is as glorious as it sounds. Every year in summer, the hills turn into a magical valley of flowers. Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park, located in the state of Uttarakhand. It is located 300 km’s north of Rishikesh, near Badrinath. The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km2 and it is about 8 km long and 2 km wide. You can spot many rare birds and animals here. The clime of this place is tough and arduous, but the results are worth it! So, go if you dare.
5) Kasol, Himachal Pradesh:
The North of India is blessed with the wonderful Himalayas and many hill stations surrounding it. However, most of them are pretty saturated. Kasol is one place which isn’t. This place attracts many Israelis and other foreigners as well. Kasol is located in Parvati valley. It’s a small town, which is secluded and very pristine. You will find bars, cafes and many cheap guesthouses here. Many trance parties also take place here.
6) Gokarna, Karnataka:
If you want to enjoy some pristine beaches in India, without the crowds. Gokarna is the place to be! Gokarna is a small town known for its unspoiled beaches and rustic nature. Gokarna lies on the western coast of India in the state of Karnataka. It is famous for its temples and beaches. If you want to explore some marvellous temples and architecture, you can do that as well. Or you can just enjoy the lovely beaches there!
7) Majuli, Assam:
The most unexplored cultural capital of Assam, Majuli is definitely a great place to explore. It is also home to the largest World’s Largest Fresh Water Island. Throughout the year, you will see many festivities happening there. You can also explore the small villages and find peace in nature. Majuli is located on the mighty river of Brahmaputra.
8) Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh:
If you want to explore the real India, then a must-visit Varanasi. Holy men, the sacred river Ganges and lovely temples; all can be found there. Though, it may overwhelm you at some point, just wade through it. This will be a spiritual journey for you and this experience will leave you with a renewed vision. A must-do in Varanasi is to visit one of the grand aartis that happen in the evening near the river Ganges.
