A Solid Foundation for a Career in Travel Tourism.

I started my Bachelor of Arts in Travel and Tourism at the University of Nairobi in 2015. The program gave me a solid foundation for understanding how the tourism and travel industry works, both locally and internationally. The coursework explored important areas like tourism management, destination development, and sustainable tourism. Through these subjects, I developed a deeper appreciation for how tourism drives economic growth and fosters cultural exchange. The lectures were not only knowledgeable but also genuinely supportive, often going the extra mile to mentor students beyond the classroom. Being in Nairobi was a real advantage. We had direct exposure to a vibrant tourism sector and a variety of industry stakeholders, which made learning much more practical and meaningful. Although some administrative processes could be a bit slow at times, my overall academic experience was truly rewarding. I recommend this program to anyone interested in building a career in the tourism and travel industry.

Life in KU

It was amazing, the professors were great. The school compound was extremely big and walking from one lecture hall to another was a big challenge. The long ques during meals at the mess was crazy. There is this thing called missing marks, you could visit exam office a million times without help.

A Transformative Experience at Makerere University

I had the privilege of attending Makerere University, and I must say it was a life-changing experience. As one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Africa, Makerere University exceeded my expectations in many ways.. The university's rich history and cultural diversity provided a unique and enriching experience. I had the opportunity to interact with students from various backgrounds, broadening my perspectives and understanding of the world. The campus facilities, although not perfect, were generally well-maintained and provided adequate resources for learning and recreation. What I disliked: - The bureaucracy and administrative processes could be slow and frustrating at times. However, this is a common challenge in many institutions, and I learned to be patient and persistent. - Some of the facilities, such as the libraries and laboratories, could benefit from modernization and upgrading. However, the university is continually working to improve its infrastructure. What I disliked: - The bureaucracy and administrative processes could be slow and frustrating at times. Despite some challenges, the university's strengths far outweigh its weaknesses. With its dedicated staff, diverse student body, and commitment to academic excellence, Makerere University is an excellent choice for students looking to transform their lives and make a positive impact in their communities.

MY UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE

I joined university with a lot of expectations, probably because of the stories told. Not everything turned out as I expected but so far I have had an awesome experience, my interaction with other students has opened my mind greatly.I've learnt to relate well with other people and to accommodate everyone, because we're all different. What stood out for me,is being an independent person, being responsible for my own actions.Campus has a lot of peer pressure and it takes a lot of self control to not go with the wave.
