The University of Nairobi Medical School offers a rigorous and well-structured medical programme that truly prepares students for the realities of the healthcare world. One of the key strengths of the programme is the hands-on clinical exposure students receive from early on, thanks to its close integration with Kenyatta National Hospital and other major health facilities. The lecturers are highly experienced and passionate about teaching, and they push students to think critically and apply their knowledge. The curriculum is demanding, but it builds a solid foundation in both basic sciences and clinical practice. The environment is competitive, which motivates you to stay focused and disciplined. While the workload can be intense and resources sometimes limited, the overall experience is incredibly rewarding. I would highly recommend the University of Nairobi Medical School to anyone who is serious about becoming a competent and compassionate medical professional. It is a place where you are challenged to grow, both academically and personally.
It was amazing, the professors were great. The school compound was extremely big and walking from one lecture hall to another was a big challenge. The long ques during meals at the mess was crazy. There is this thing called missing marks, you could visit exam office a million times without help.
Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is one of the best universities in Kenya, as a personal opinion and one that is recommended nationally. I went there first because it was a few kilometres away from home and I wanted the experience of living alone and generally to feel like an adult. It was home away from home, that I even stayed one year later even after graduation. The lecturers were quite tough which was a good thing because I almost didn't graduate because I had missed a few classes. All my practical units that required extra coursework outside class always had the lecturers in attendance even when they didn't have to. My lecturers were very friendly and very practical on what the course I did would translate to once I finished. The security was very good especially for a single female young lady miles away from home. There was plenty of room to study, from parks all around the university, the student centre and the library. You could also easily access help from the administration and get to the staff offices for extra help from our lectures without going through loops. I loved it there and yes, I would recommend it to a family or friend, depending on the course they plan to do. I was an introvert in campus but I remember trying things like rollball, table tennis, pool, drama which are available and active even till date.

Daystar University gtaught me the importance of expressing myself and respectfully disagreeing with opinions that i djid not subscribe to. The university taught me that as much as i am leader i should not be afraid to be hands on on any given task in life and work space. A servant leader leads by example and does not instill fear to those he is leading.
