The program itself is great and really prepares you for an academic career, but the quality of the supervisors varies a lot. Some people in the department are excellent and enjoy empowering their students, but the majority of profs make you feel like they're doing you a favour by giving you their time of day/guidance. Might be an issue exclusively with this department, but still. And the campus is cool! Great cheap eats around. Shout out to El Rey for when you want to splurge a bit and get some awesome tacos!
Studying Computer programming at seneca college was quite a challenge for me. I am a post covid pass out from Seneca College. My first the semesters were mostly spent online and the last was majorly in person. Both online and in-person classes we were not given a proper teaching. Most of the professors gave a very brief teaching of the course which is definitely not enough for jobs in the field. Most of the learnings I got was from youtube or some online courses. I am not too sure if the condition is same after the covid batches but I wont recommend this program at Seneca.
I have been choosing the program I want to study for a very long time, and I was not mistaken. I like how the teachers explain their subjects. The incredible thing is that the teachers tell their personal experiences, and I can conclude that these people have achieved success in life. I also want to note that my college does a lot to support students since you will not have to wait long for an answer to a question asked, and also, if you live in residence, you can participate in different activities almost every day. Centennial College has a very close-knit team. The only thing I would like to improve is the payment methods for the residence and the training itself, since sometimes problems arise with this, of course, they are quickly resolved, but it would be better if these problems did not exist.
TMU University's mechanical program with a specialization in mechatronics is a very challenging major. All of the courses strikes heavily on theorical knowledges of the field. Some of the courses are pretty fun to when they focus more on project based. Although there are few professors that doesn't care about teaching but more focusing on their researches, there are a lot of professors that cares about student's understanding of materials.
Truly, Humber College will always be an educational institute that I will recommend to family and friends. The reason for this is because they put students first, and hire professors who are professionals in the field they are teaching. I graduated from the Child and Youth Care program in 2018, and really appreciated the fact that my professors were Youth Workers themselves. This allowed me to gain field knowledge, and experienced education. Furthermore, the campus is clean, safe and full of fun activities year round. All in all, Humber College was a great experience for me from 2015-2018.
