As a current student at McGill University, my experience has been incredibly rewarding both academically and personally. McGill is known for its strong international reputation, and it truly lives up to that with a diverse student body from around the world, which creates an exciting, global learning environment. The academic programs are challenging and research-driven, which pushes you to think critically and manage your time effectively. I’ve particularly appreciated the interdisciplinary opportunities, allowing me to combine Political Science, International Development, and South Asian Studies, and learn from professors who are passionate leaders in their fields. Beyond the classroom, campus life is vibrant, with countless clubs, events, and networking opportunities, plus the unique experience of living in Montréal, a city that balances culture, affordability, and excitement. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be student support services. While resources are available, they can sometimes feel stretched, especially during peak academic periods, and navigating administrative processes can be challenging. Overall, I would absolutely recommend McGill to anyone looking for a rigorous education in an inspiring, multicultural setting with strong global recognition.
After considering UQAM for my studies, I ultimately decided against it due to the lack of support I experienced. While the university's programs seemed promising, the insufficient support infrastructure made me hesitant to commit. The limited communication channels and slow response times left me feeling uncertain about my ability to navigate challenges effectively. Ultimately, I chose to pursue my education elsewhere, where I felt confident in the support system provided.
