A Cheap and Great Option

I am a student at Bath Spa University - RAK, their main campus in the United Arab Emirates. As far as I know, there are other Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ajman campuses. I've only been to the RAK and Ajman campus and I could say that their campus and environment needs some work. Their walls, hallways, classrooms, and canteen need some decorating to entice their students. Their campus is also fairly small compared to the students that are enrolled in their university. Despite all the improvements needed in their environment and campus, their education standard is pretty good as it is a British curriculum. If you are looking for a university with a British curriculum, is cheap, and has accommodating teachers, Bath Spa University could be the choice for you. They give out free scholarships that could range up to 50% off your original tuition fees. This could be a big help to students who are looking for high education quality but at the same time managing their finances.

Science major

The Chemistry and Biology program at the University of Bath is exceptional for students who enjoy hands-on learning. Weekly lab sessions are a highlight, allowing us to apply theoretical concepts in a practical environment. The facilities are state-of-the-art, and the support from PhD demonstrators during lab sessions is invaluable. The interdisciplinary approach of combining chemistry with biology opens up diverse career paths in research, healthcare, and industry. The tutorials are small and interactive, fostering a supportive learning environment where complex topics are broken down effectively. However, the workload can be intense, especially during exam periods, requiring strong time management skills. The placement year is another major advantage, offering industry exposure that enhances career prospects.

Student in 2013

I really enjoyed my time at LCB! I've found that my skills when I entered the work force were much higher than others. I think though there was a big portion missing in recipe development and composition. True- we did learn it through memorizing the recipes, but we really were missing classes on how different ingredients affect the final textures.. how you can change them... etc. That I still am not an expert in .. and I create recipes! Ouf! Also, I don't know if you still do a month of sugar work... but that really wasn't necessary and should be either cut or minimized to just 2 lessons. It's such a niche skill to know that I would have really preferred more technical skills. I loved the old location. The "rumors" I'm getting about the new location are that it's not as good, unfortunately - that i's become more of a money focused/marketing machine. I really hope that this image can be fixed as I love LCB and enjoyed my time there! Oh also - there should be more help for students to get jobs and featuring old students accomplishments - from cookbook launches to new bakeries so that current and old students can support them.
