The School of International Service is ranked 10th in the country and growing! The Bachelor of International Studies is an interdisciplinary program that encourages you to look at aspects of international studies outside your field of study. At first it really worried me, why take class X if I’m going to study Y? The more classes I take, the more perspective I have. This is a useful system. SIS is the best school in the university. Most sophomores can find internships through their awesome career center. Career counselors are realistic and deliver results. Every professor I have had at SIS is an expert in their field, has written books and is still doing research for their research. They teach lessons they are passionate about that resonate with students. It can be a lot of work and the essay is difficult. The first semester was really hard for some, but if you really put your mind to it, you will make it!
View moreI am currently in my second year at AU majoring in public health. So far the education here has been very rewarding with a fairly diverse ethnic / religiously diverse student body and very diverse in terms of political passions / views. The only universal factor I have found is the students’ passion for politics, a high level of intelligence.
Academics are great / almost all professors. Also, the dorms / campus / security are top notch. The only two things missing from this school are food (even though the food isn’t as bad as people complain, there are loads of options constant criticism and improvement every semester in this department. The only thing missing from this school is a great party scene, small sleepovers happen / the ARs are almost all quiet. The lack of a larger scene may be partly due to the isolated students in high school, but in my experience, even the nerdiest students get fat pretty quickly. Note: I didn’t do Greek life last year, get it in to Account
