As a Virginia Tech alum, I can confidently say the quality of education is exceptional. I studied Environmental Policy, and the resources, faculty, and hands-on opportunities were all top-notch. The facilities, from the library to the labs, are impressive, and you get the support needed to succeed academically.
However, as a student of color, I found the lack of diversity to be a bit of a culture shock at first. It wasn’t always easy, but there are a lot of opportunities to find your community. Getting involved in cultural organizations and other student groups made a huge difference for me. Once you find your place, the university offers so much room for growth, both personally and professionally.
