My campus was actually based in Doha, Qatar among 10 other US-based institutions offering programs that were the best in their fields. I studied Interior Design, and the program was rigorous and versatile, as we learned skills from all other design majors. The professors were from diverse backgrounds and even qualifications, and experts in their professions. The campus also has multiple clubs from sports to arts. I do have to note that what I disliked most was the funding for our departments which resulted in a lot of students being disadvantaged, especially in an incredibly wealthy country.
As an international student, I lived in the dorms that were in close proximity to the school and made friends with other international students that way. I also was a Resident Assistant for two years which eased the burden of extremely high costs for housing and simultaneously, provided me with a monthly stipend. Through this experience, I honed my leadership skills, interacted with students from all backgrounds and universities, and helped them through their time at university. had the privilege of even befriending these students and still being good friends to this day.
