The whole school has an artistic vibe, where each class has a creative take on how to teach and learn. I took all sorts of classes from entry to sculpture to financial accounting, and each class had its own spin on how to teach. The con to this might be is each professor is unique in thier own way, therefore it is very important to look the professor up and understand their teaching styles through review pages, before you choose a class
View moreI highly recommend VCU. Having been here for almost four years, I have no regrets about choosing it. VCU is a great choice for anyone who is high-achieving, adaptable, and interested in broadening their horizons by meeting diverse people. My biggest advice is to stay open—be open to different opportunities, meet new people, and try new things!
While VCU has been a fantastic experience overall, it’s not perfect. One of my biggest challenges has been finding housing, and I’ve also found it frustrating that some food-related events are only accessible if you have a dining plan. But despite these few downsides, VCU offers a vibrant and fulfilling environment. Not only will you find your path here, but you’ll grow as a person, and meet amazing people!
I am a nursing student here and I am so glad I chose this program. Being an academic health system and Level 1 Trauma center, our clinicals are great learning opportunities. I feel prepared to graduate in the spring.
View moreI really enjoy my experience here. The school and the resources in the health sciences programs are impressive. Being in Richmond gives us lots of internship opportunities and a cool mix of culture and city life. Unfortunately, the campus is spread out, so it can be a bit of a hassle getting around, especially between Monroe Park and the MCV campus.
View moreAs a current student at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), I can confidently say it’s been a great experience overall. The campus is vibrant, and there are so many resources to support students. The library is a standout, offering not just a quiet space for studying but also a variety of research tools, 3D printing, and multimedia equipment. The faculty are highly knowledgeable and genuinely care about students’ success, providing plenty of opportunities for academic growth. VCU’s career services are also top-notch, helping students connect with internships and job opportunities. The wellness center is well-equipped, and there are tons of extracurricular activities to get involved in. While the tuition fees are a bit on the higher side, the quality of education and resources you receive make it worth it. If you’re looking for a school that provides excellent support and opportunities, VCU is a great choice. In addition to the excellent academic resources, VCU offers a diverse and inclusive campus culture that makes it a welcoming place for students from all walks of life. The student organizations are vast, allowing you to connect with like-minded peers and explore new interests. The location in Richmond is another advantage, offering plenty of cultural and professional opportunities. The university also has strong partnerships with local industries, which can be incredibly beneficial for internships and post-graduation employment. While the fees can feel a little steep, the support and experiences available here definitely make it a worthwhile investment.
