My experience at the university of the People

My Opinion About the University of the People

1. Likes
One of the things I appreciate most about the University of the People is its commitment to accessible education. The tuition-free model, combined with flexible online learning, makes it possible for students from different backgrounds to pursue higher education regardless of financial or geographical limitations. I also like the diversity of the student community—interacting with classmates from around the world brings a global perspective to every course discussion. In addition, the structured weekly deadlines help me stay disciplined while still allowing me to balance work, family, and studies.

2. Dislikes
While UoPeople offers many advantages, there are areas that could be improved. The peer-assessment system, although helpful for learning, can sometimes lead to inconsistent grading. Some students may provide very detailed feedback, while others offer comments that are too brief or not aligned with the rubric. Additionally, since the university is fully online, communication with instructors and advisors can occasionally feel slow or limited. A more responsive support system would make the experience even smoother.

3. Recommendations
I would recommend the University of the People to others, especially to learners who need a flexible, affordable way to pursue a degree. However, I would advise new students to be self-disciplined, comfortable with independent study, and proactive in seeking help when needed. Improving peer-assessment training, enhancing instructor availability, and expanding additional academic resources—such as live sessions and tutoring—could further strengthen the learning experience.
