University of the People has been a genuinely transformative experience for me. I’m studying Computer Science, and what stands out most is how accessible the program is. There’s no tuition, only small fees per exam, which removed the biggest barrier standing between me and a real, accredited degree. The flexibility to study around my own schedule made it possible to keep learning without putting the rest of my life on hold.

The course structure is solid. Peer-to-peer discussion forums are a strong part of the learning model, letting me engage with classmates from completely different countries and backgrounds, which has genuinely broadened how I think about problems. Instructors have generally been supportive and responsive, especially when I reached out during weeks I fell behind.

That said, it’s not for everyone. Since everything is asynchronous and online, it takes real self-discipline to stay on track, and there’s less live interaction than a traditional university. Students who thrive with structure and in-person accountability might find the format challenging at first.

Overall, I’d recommend UoPeople to anyone who’s motivated, self-driven, and looking for a legitimate, affordable path to a degree, especially students who might not otherwise have access to higher education. It’s given me real skills, real flexibility, and a real opportunity.
