I am very satisfied with the opportunity to study at University of the People. I currently work as an IT Technician in a NATO environment, and because of the nature and location of my work, studying at a traditional university in my home country would be almost impossible. Polish regulations and the organisation of many programmes still do not always allow fully remote education, while travelling more than 1,000 kilometres to attend weekend classes would not be realistic.
At the same time, the cost of traditional university education in many English-speaking countries was too high for me, which previously made starting a degree abroad very difficult. UoPeople gave me a realistic opportunity to continue my education while working internationally.
I chose the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science because I want to further develop my knowledge and professional career in IT. I especially appreciate the understanding and support of the instructors, the quality and practical value of the learning materials, easy access to educational resources, and the flexibility to complete assignments within clearly defined deadlines.
Another important factor for me was that an American university degree may be recognised in Poland through the applicable international and national recognition procedures. This gives the programme additional professional value for my future career.
UoPeople requires discipline, good time management, and regular participation, but it offers a valuable opportunity for people who cannot attend a traditional university. Based on my experience, I would recommend it to motivated students who need flexible, accessible, and internationally oriented education.
