Deciding to tackle a Computer Science degree while juggling a remote help desk job and raising kids could have been a logistical nightmare, but University of the People made it entirely possible. I chose UoPeople because I needed a program that was as flexible as my schedule demands, without compromising on the quality of the education. My biggest motivation was showing my son that it’s never too late to step into new rooms, level up your education, and completely own your future.

The structure is brilliant for non-traditional students. I can literally be converting decimal numbers to hexadecimal, studying computer system architecture, or brushing up on netiquette in the pockets of time between my daily responsibilities. The courses are rigorous and challenging, but the asynchronous format lets you master the material on your own timeline.

If you’re dealing with any imposter syndrome about going back to school in your 40s (or at any age), evict it right now. UoPeople gives you the exact tools you need to walk into the tech world and confidently claim your space. I highly recommend it to anyone ready to stop asking for permission and start building their next chapter!
