UNH welcomed me with open hands; from the students and faculty, to the administrative staff, I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the care and attention that I received while I was there. I felt heard, seen and privileged to have received world class mentoring and education from some of the very best minds in my discipline of Materials Science and Engineering. As a teaching assistant and graduate of the Cognate in College Teaching program, I also had the ability to learn and practice under some renowned educators to whom I am eternal grateful.
View moreBeing an international student at the University of New Hampshire has been an unforgettable chapter of my life. The campus feels like stepping into a storybook with its old, vintage charm, especially during fall when the leaves paint the town in golden hues. The seasons here are distinct, and each has its own personality—from the crisp, snowy winters to the blossoming springs, the weather keeps life exciting.
The university itself stands out for its quality of education and the incredible diversity on campus. I’ve had the privilege of meeting people from all over the world, sharing cultures, stories, and laughs. The professors are knowledgeable and approachable, always encouraging us to explore beyond the curriculum.
What I love most about my time here is the balance between academics and the funtime moments. From student events to serene walks around campus, it’s a place where you can study hard and live fully. It’s also a space where you grow—not just as a student but as a person.
To anyone considering the University of New Hampshire, I’d say, “Go for it.” You’ll leave with more than just a degree; you’ll leave with memories, friendships, and lessons that will stay with you for life. As they say, “Sometimes we forget to count our blessings,” but my time here is a blessing I’ll always remember.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s not just a school; it’s an experience, a journey, and a chapter of growth. And if you’re someone who believes, like me, that “worries fade here,” this might just be your place too.
View moreI truly chose UNH off a gut feeling. I had no idea what to expect as I am from Virginia. I decided to move nine hours hour, and it was the best decision. The University of New Hampshire made me feel included and gave me a brand new life. The atmosphere of the students and small town of Durham make me feel at home. I study town planning and environmental science and this place excels in this department. I have class out in the woods and can truly talk to my professors. This doesn’t mean it’s all perfect. I have had my fair share of recommendations I have brought to administration. We as students show up for each other, but some administrators do not care about students. If you are a person that wants to find people to make the world a better place, this is the place to do it.

The instructors and staff are there to support the kids as they develop, and they are always there if they see any indications of difficulty. Additionally, the student body is very close by. It is nearly difficult to turn a corner without seeing a group of kids gathered in the hallway, discussing their classes, studying, or just hanging out. One may feel at home at UNHM and know that, in addition to receiving a top-notch education, they are surrounded by individuals who are eager to help them achieve.
