As an engineering student at Union College, I’ve had an incredibly rewarding academic experience. The small class sizes mean professors genuinely get to know you and are always willing to help, whether during office hours or after class. The engineering curriculum is rigorous but very well-structured, with a strong balance of theory and practical application. Labs and design projects are a core part of the program and have helped me build both technical skills and confidence.
What really stood out to me was how accessible and encouraging the faculty are, especially in mechanical and electrical engineering. Union’s liberal arts integration also allowed me to explore interests outside of STEM, which helped me grow as a communicator and problem-solver.
The campus community is tight-knit, and it’s easy to get involved—whether in clubs, research, or leadership opportunities. I’d highly recommend Union College to any student who wants a personalized, well-rounded engineering education in a supportive environment.

A standout in my experience at Union College was having Dr. Flynn as a professor. Her passion for teaching, deep knowledge, and dedication to her students made a lasting impact on my education. She is perfect and goes above and beyond to ensure that his students not only understand the material but also learn how to apply it in real-world situations. Her engaging teaching style and commitment to academic excellence truly set her apart.

View moreUnion College offers a diverse range of interests and opportunities in a vast array of subject matter. Students are provided with ample knowledge, experience and expertise in fields that correlate to mandated requirements to successfully progress many fields of study. The disadvantages of this academic institution relate with limited availability in the fields of Natural and Medical Sciences. As a 4-year institution, Union College has limited opportunity to progress in studies relating to Natural Sciences and Medical Science professions. Union College provides opportunity to obtain Doctor of Educational Leadership however. The future and Opportunity for growth is still evident and progressing with this academic institution and I would highly recommend this facility to those seeking to better their academic studies to gain a plentiful and engaging opportunity in higher education.

Professors care a great deal about their students, going above and beyond to support them in their academic and personal growth. Some of my best experiences at college were spent with my professors walking around campus, playing with their dogs, and going to cafes near school. No other college focuses on the student-professor relationship like Union does. Since graduating, my professors have continued supporting me and provided me with an amazing network of academics and professionals.
