I feel Education and Environment work hand in hand, and at UIC you have a nice blend of both. You have high quality facilities mixed with Uplifting Campus life. When you need that fresh air to collect your thoughts you literally just have to be anywhere in this institution and I find that to be really nice..
View moreSince I’ve been attending UIC, I have noticed that the academic and social atmosphere is very welcoming and inclusive, giving opportunities to learn and grow with their excellent courses and extracurricular activities. The professors despite dealing with large classes are incredibly knowledgeable in all areas of their discipline thus providing personalized and helpful guidance. Additionally the campus is beautiful and the location is great, since it’s close to restaurants, shops and other attractions it makes it a one stop destination saving students money from paying Uber and other expenses.

Of course not everything will be as rosy as I have said but overall the experience you’ll find at this university will be slightly similar to mine if not the same.
Good university but it did not lead to a good job. The facilities were lovely and it was good getting to meet many international students. Additionally, I got assistantships (RA and TA), which helped with the costs. That being said, my degree was not worth it in the long run.
View moreThis is the most awful University in the United States of America. I honestly despise this school. First off, every professor is the most far left that you can imagine. Honestly, that is fine, be who you want to be, but shoving it in my face every two seconds is when it is too far. Second, the Honors College is the biggest joke of all time. Such a waste of time. Every student in the Honors College is pretentious and think they are better than everyone when in reality they are the dumbest people alive. The Honors College does not even do anything to help you and improve how you look for graduate schools. They say it does, but it really does not. Other advisors have even said that is the case. Now, not all professors are bad (like 4 of them). The University runs like the CTA during Lollapalooza- nonexistent. The staff here take at least three weeks to respond to an email or even a service issue for one of the buildings on campus. The University also tries to take every penny it can from you.
