As an international student, my college experience was both transformative and challenging. Coming from a different cultural background, I had no idea what to expect coming into a small town institution.
Looking at the class size, I’d say that’s one of the strengths of the college. I found that my frofessors took time to get to know me and tailor their teachings to my needs.
My expereince gets a bit more mixed when it comes to the campus life and the schools attempts at inclusion. The college does a decent job at bringing students together, but it’s evident that most of the student body is homogenous. Not only the student body but the entire state of Idaho. There were several moments where I felt seen as an international student with different values instead of being seen as a regular other student.
The college is a great school if you’re looking for a tight-knit community of people, but as an international student, I’d say that there’s room to foster a more inclusive environment.
View moreI thnk it’s a great college. The school is really small, and this allows us to interact a lot with our professors. I feel like this is a great experience, especially for those who will go to grad school later.
