Academics at Syracuse University

Currently, the university offers higher education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels covering diverse subjects and disciplines from more than 200 majors and 100 minors. As for the programmes to choose from, Syracuse University is split into 13 schools and colleges with programmes in information studies and library science, architecture, communications, business administration, inclusive education and wellness, sport management, public administration, engineering, the arts, and sciences. According to a US News & World Report, SU was ranked 61st among national universities in the US in 2016. Moreover, Syracuse participates in the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities and the University and College Accountability Network (U-CAN). In 2018, there were almost 35,000 applicants for only 3,350 places in the Freshman class.

Student Life at Syracuse University

With over 22,000 students from 123 countries and 1,500 academic staff in 2018, Syracuse University has a broad and diverse student life. There is an entirely student-run television studio, as well as multiple student-run magazines. The student government involves the Student Association, the Graduate Student Organisation and the Law Student Senate. In addition to that, Syracuse University’s sports team, “the Orange” has reached 28 team national championships.
