This maybe a community college but the educational experienced at this college was exceptional. The classes are well-structured and taught by instructors that are responsive to questions, in email and verbal form. I’ve taken both online and in person classes and both formats have been clear and manageable. The curriculum is designed to align with universities in the Utah, such as the University of Utah. SLCC is accommodating when it comes to scheduling. I worked full time while taking evening and online classes. It’s amazing when you still have to work to pay bills but want to further your education. The tuition is reasonable as compared to a four year university. They are great with assisting in financial aid. One of the things I would change is the counselors that assist in helping you pick classes could be more attentive to student’s needs. Also, have more of an awareness on the surrounding universities and the classes to attend at SLCC to “impress” said universities. The only other thing I would change is the financial aid department needs more counselors to help students. The wait time is absurd. They also need to be trained in other options other than borrowing money, given the current state of student loan debt. But overall, I believe I was given a decent education at SLCC.
