There are several reasons why I absolutely loved getting my bachelors and masters degree from WGU. First, I love the competency based aspect of the school. If you already know most of the material through work or life experience, you just have to show it and it makes finishing your classes that much faster! I felt that I was challenged intellectually and I had lots of support from my mentor. The low cost of the school is another reason that I loved WGU! It’s 6 month terms at an affordable rate, so you don’t have to leave school with major debt. It’s also accredited and respected by employers! You’ll love this school!

I can highly recommend WGU to anyone who is able to learn alone with support available when needed. You must be somewhat self-reliant and have some metacognitive skills to succed at WGU. There are recorded and live cohorts for every course and you can always make a same day appointment with your student mentor or course instructor if necessary.

Western Governors University is a reputable institution that offers a flexible, affordable, and quality education. While it may not be a perfect fit for everyone, especially those who thrive in a traditional classroom setting, it has much to offer for self-motivated individuals seeking to advance their education and careers on their terms. Some material and cohorts seemed very old and not up to technical standards depending on the professor. The mentorship program is good for people who need motivation but can be annoying to self motivated individuals. Overall, I’ve had a positive experience at WGU and would recommend it to others.

Western Governors University, home of the night owls! I am currently in my first semester and I am delighted with the schools platform thus far. The turn around time for responses from staff is excellent. They are very encouraging and are truly there every step of the way. Not to mention they are affordable. Busy schedule, no problem!
