I highly recommend VCU. Having been here for almost four years, I have no regrets about choosing it. VCU is a great choice for anyone who is high-achieving, adaptable, and interested in broadening their horizons by meeting diverse people. My biggest advice is to stay open—be open to different opportunities, meet new people, and try new things!
While VCU has been a fantastic experience overall, it’s not perfect. One of my biggest challenges has been finding housing, and I’ve also found it frustrating that some food-related events are only accessible if you have a dining plan. But despite these few downsides, VCU offers a vibrant and fulfilling environment. Not only will you find your path here, but you’ll grow as a person, and meet amazing people!
VCU has its pros and cons, like any school. Student life is the biggest pro. There is never a dull moment. It sticks to its diverse reputation by staying inclusive and representative of everyone. With its pros there are cons, that being it is in a city so safety can be compromised. Fortunately, the university has lots of resources to provide as much as possible to ensure safety.
