There is nothing else like NYC. it is a unique city of its own. There are no equals for the individuals you will meet or the experiences you will have. It is whatever you make of it. In the most varied places on Earth, there are classes for every interest, clubs for every specialized interest, and students from every racial and socioeconomic background. Additionally, it is one of the most multi-cultural and diversified schools in the entire world. There are countless chances offered! On and off campus, there is a space for everyone thanks to clubs, athletics, and other groups. You will be stimulated both professionally and socially by this school. It forces you to be more engaged and offers you an inside look at the actual world so rapidly.

The programme is flexible in that there are difficult courses that can be studied in-depth, and there are also easier courses to leave more time for students to brush up on their skills, find internships and find jobs. With the surge in AI popularity in recent years, the college has recruited a number of AI research insiders from Google and FB to teach.

All things considered, the programme is still very good in terms of curriculum, not only in terms of breadth but also depth. If you are interested in CS, then take more CS courses; if you are interested in finance and economics, then you can take all the electives at stern and learn more about business. Stern’s finance and economics courses still have a lot of good classes, and the professors in the classes are basically big names in the industry, so the teaching ability is still very strong.

I started my NYU graduate study in Shanghai. It was the “Go Local” project which allows students to take in-person courses in their country. During that time, they sent staff from the NYC campus to Shanghai and delivered in-person courses. Meanwhile, I took co-op internships in Shanghai since there was no restriction like CPT.

After one semester at NYU Shanghai, I went to the NYC campus. There are a bunch of online and in-person courses. There are really good professors. For those elective courses, you can definitely learn the state of the art in the specific topics. And the labs involve detailed coding which gives you hands-on knowledge about those topics.

And the campus is fully open to all students who are vaccinated: the library, the basketball court, the gym. You name it.

It is worth mentioning that the educational background at NYU really helped me when I applied for internships in the US. I got several interviews from the tech and financial companies, and I successfully found my 2022 summer internship at Meta/Facebook.

NYU is great for self motivated students and the location is unbeatable. All the professors I’ve had range from okay to excellent, so it’s an overall good learning experience. I have the freedom to pursue whatever academic interests I have, as well as go abroad. The biggest downside are the students. I feel like many of my peers are boring, dumb, unmotivated rich kids.

Tuition fees are high. Living in nyc is costly. However, classes were fun and interesting the students come from very diverse backgrounds. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at New York University. 10/10 would recommend!
