I enjoy deeply the courses required for my major, I believe that they prepare you very well for careers in my field. Their depth and rigor prepare students to perform above other candidates in their field. The professors are dedicated, have deep joy for their field, and are passionate teachers. However, their programs have extreme faults in their core requirements. Specific to STEM majors the length of their core requirements makes it extremely difficult to complete your degree focused on your subject matter. This is due to the fact that STEM major requirements tend to be longer than other majors and well as more difficult. Requiring more outside hours. Requiring students to take so many courses outside their major, especially within their junior and senior year, significantly impedes upon our ability to take necessary courses. The student life is very lively. Most people are very friendly and there is a diverse student body. One will be sure to find their “group” within Fordham.
