Fordham University is best known for its academics and its well-rounded core curriculum. There are many interesting classes to take at the university, many of which have changed how I view the world. Among some of the interesting classes I have taken were History of Music, Urban Poverty, and International Reporting. Even though Fordham requires students to take classes, especially Theology and Philosophy classes, outside of major requirements, I found that these classes helped enrich me as a person. Fordham Professors are also very knowledgeable and understanding of students’ circumstances. Professors want you to succeed, and they will help you as long as you stay in communication with them. I made some of my best friends at Fordham University. It has a smaller student population than other New York City universities and colleges, which in my experience, makes it a lot easier to make friends. You are surrounded by familiar faces and have many opportunities to build lasting relationships. The area surrounding the Lincoln Center campus is also very diverse and has many great places to eat and to hang out. One drawback is that the university is very expensive, but definitely worth it if you get scholarships or financial aid.
